My favorite holiday recipe is REAL cranberry sauce!! Yum! My family does a non traditional Thanksgiving. Many do not care for turkey so we head the Czech route with pork, dumplings, sauerkraut, and cranberries! Happy Thanksgiving and birthday!

My favorite holiday treats are my husband’s Tahini Sesame Cookies. They are firm cookies and get eaten quickly! Happy Thanksgiving, Sara, Danny, family and everyone reading.

Preheat to 350 degrees. Line four baking sheets with parchment.

    1 1/2 c all purpose flour
    3/4 t baking soda
    1/2 t kosher salt

1 stick unsalted butter, room temp
    1 c sugar
    1 large egg, room temp
    1 t pure vanilla extract
    1/2 c tahini, well stirred

1/2 c white sesame seeds, or a combination of black and white, lightly toasted

Whisk together flour mixture and set aside.

In medium bowl, using electric mixer and paddle attachment beat on med. 2 minutes until fluffy the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat in tahini.

On low add flour mixture until just combined. Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.

Spread sesame seeds on a shallow dish. Scoop 2 Tablespoons of dough and roll into a ball. Roll ball in the sesame seeds until coated. Leave dough in ball form on baking sheets spaced 3 inches apart. Bake, rotating sheet halfway until golden brown, about 18-20 minutes. Cool completely on wire rack.
