I just wanted to share this week’s episode of ‘Ask Sara’ with you – this week I talked about my sewing machine. I get a lot of emails asking which machine I use, so I thought I’d give you a quick tour of my actual machine! Enjoy!
I’m very excited to share with you the full-length video for my free Baker Street Bag sewing pattern; this video will take you through the entire process of making this bag from start to finish. It’s a great confident-beginner bag and features a recessed zipper! read more

I’m back with another video! This time it’s for a fantastic holiday quilt called ‘Hanging Out with the Homies’. The quilt uses fabrics from Tula Pink’s fabric line, ‘Holiday Homies’. It’s a beautiful red-and-green wonderland of prints and my favorite are the animals wearing holiday sweaters! The quilt pattern was designed by Stacey Day. read more

The Amethyst Project Bag started out as a request from my daughter on Christmas morning. She had gotten a stack of drawing books and sketch pads from Santa, and she wanted some sort of bag to hold them all. So we sat down and came up a plan, and I told her that I would come up with a sewing pattern and make her bag. A few hours later, she came back and asked me where her bag was. Haha, I’m fast but I’m not that fast! I had some projects to wrap up at the beginning of the year, but I finally got around to my daughter’s pattern and she was super excited to see the finished bag (she was quite a bit disappointed that I had to ‘borrow’ her bag to do the photoshoot yesterday while she was in school). read more
