I have taught my sister how to sew some projects on my machines. I’m not sure if she feels like she’s *learned* how to sew though!

  8. Erin Murphy says:

Yes, I taught a beginning quilting class using Jodi Barrow’s Square in a Square method. I wasn’t very experienced with this method, but I had spent a year learning it and had read every page in her book several times. I learned how to view photos of other quilts that could be done using this method and learned how to utilize her sizing charts to duplicate the image that I saw. So fun and loved sharing my new-found knowledge with others! I hope to do the same someday with other sewing, quilting, or even bag making topics. I recently found you through Craftsy. Based on some other’s comments about your excellent teaching and videos, I know that I will be a regular to your posts and videos. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and generosity in teaching!!

I’ve taught my 2 nieces to sew by making doll clothes for their American doll and making their mom and themselves aprons with matching chef hats. We also practiced some basic quilt blocks. Also taught numerous friends various quilt related techniques and a few sewing friends needed a hand making bags. I love to sew and it is contagious. Thanks for the give away opportunity. I love your videos.
