Umm….what am I thinking doing 2 quilt alongs at once? I’m already doing the Dresden Plate Quilt Along at Lily’s Quilts, and now I’m jumping in (late) on the Bottled Rainbows quilt along at Stitched In Color. A lot of people in the Flickr group have already posted their first block (or two).
I’m going to be honest with you. I did see the posts around blogland about this quilt along, but I didn’t really understand it. I just saw a bunch of squares in solid colors and figured that that’s what it pretty much was. Boy, I had no idea.
I just have to do it, though. After seeing these lovely blocks on Cut to Pieces, I said to myself, “Self…you are doing this. End of story.”
So I ordered the 16 different solids for the outside of the blocks (which is putting me over March’s $25 sewing budget, so I’m going to have to sell something), and hopefully they’ll be here by the end of the week and I can wash them and get started. Thank goodness I participated in the Scrap Swap on Sew Sara and will have some more scraps coming my way next week (not that I don’t already have an insane amount)!

I saw this one last week or the week before & thought it looked pretty neat. I don’t have nearly enough scraps to participate, but maybe I can go back & do it some other time. I can’t wait to start seeing your blocks!
I have thought about about a quilt along, I have a friend that seems to be always doing something. Right now I need to focus on UFO’s, not add to them…
