Kim – I must have been struck with some Christmas this week!  I had to have this green with the lovely red batik somewhere in these blocks.  The print is Pat Sloan Bobbins and Bits for Moda and the solid is Kona.  I just realized that now I need to figure out what sashing I am going to use!

Hey #Tula100 Quilters! I hope you are having fun in the squares chapter. Block # 82 is the perfect square patchwork block; the Nine Patch. I kept mine very similar to the book example with Parisville fabric, but added a fun Japanese basics purple with yellow polka dot. I didn’t notice until I was sewing my block together that my fussy cut Parisville squares all looked very similar and at first I considered going back to the cutting board with it, but then I noticed that Tula has a similar repeat in her example that I hadn’t even noticed so I decided to go with it.
Block 83
Block #83 is a fun four patch in a frame. I couldn’t resist going super dotty with this one and used a kei dot and ta dot to match the Birds and Bees ladybug print. This block is also on the edge of the Gridlock layout, which I am 99% sure I sticking true to the book. For some reason I get excited when I am working on one of the border blocks.
Block 84
Block #83 on the other hand is just about smack dab in the middle of the Gridlock layout. This is a really fun take on a square within a square. I went with polka dots yet again! I hope it doesn’t scream too much in the final layout.
Speaking of final layout;  I am still keeping my blocks in a binder with each block having it’s own page. This has come in really handy for keeping my blocks safe & organized and being able to reference them over and over when choosing fabrics to make sure I am getting a lot of variety. I am so anxious to start sticking my blocks to a design wall to see my progress! I really can’t believe there are less than 20 blocks left to sew! Keep up the good work.
