Minikins Hackney Pouch

Here’s a closer look at the Hackney Pouch from Minikins Season Three. This pattern is exclusively part of the bundle. I really love the curved shape of the lid, and it’s perfect for holding a myriad of different items, including school supplies, cosmetics, sewing supplies, and even a Nintendo Switch!

Finished Size:

  • small – 9” long x 2” tall x 4” deep (22.8cm x 5cm x 10cm)
  • medium – 10” long x 2-1/2” tall x 5” deep (25.4cm x 6.3cm x 12.7cm)
  • large – 11” long x 3” tall x 6” deep (28cm x 7.6cm x 15.2cm)

The bundle includes the pdf patterns and videos to make all 12 projects.

Each pdf pattern includes sewing instructions, complete with step-by-step color photos. Also included in the PDF pattern are printable pattern pieces for your home printer. The following files will all be included with your PDF pattern purchase:

  • SVG Files (for electric cutting machines, such as the Brother Scan N Cut and the Cricut Maker)
  • Projector Files (for use with home projectors for cutting out fabric; please see the group Projectors for Sewing for more information)
  • A0 Files (large-format 33″ x 46″ pattern page for printing at your local copy shop, in case you would rather not tape together the pattern pages that are included in the PDF pattern)

SUPPLIES
• 1/3 yard/metre of exterior fabric
• 1/3 yard/metre of lining fabric
• 1/4 yard/metre of foam interfacing (By Annie’s Soft and Stable, Pellon Flex Foam, Bosal In-R-Form, or auto
headliner; if using Flex Foam, it is only 20” wide so please purchase 1/2 yards)
• 1/2 yard/metre of 20” wide Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex fusible woven interfacing (or med-weight fusible interfacing)
• 1/4 yard/metre of Pellon Decor Bond OR Decovil Light (if you are making size large, I recommend that you instead
use either Pellon Peltex #71 OR Decovil Heavy)
• Double-pull handbag zipper – small – 20” (51cm)
medium – 22” (56cm)
large – 26” (66cm)
• 12” handbag zipper for mesh pocket in lining
• 12” x 9” (30.4cm x 22.8cm) piece of mesh

The pouches pictured were made with various Tula Pink fabrics.

Thank you to Chera for the lovely photos, and also thank you to my pattern testers for turning in some beautiful work! You can see all of their photos below.

Are the Minikins Hackney Pouch machine washable?

Hi Rachel! It depends on the fabrics that you use for your pouch, but if for example you use quilting cotton, then yes, it would be machine washable. Thank you!
