Minikins Hildegard’s Notion Trunk

Here’s a closer look at Hildegard’s Notion Organizer from Minikins Season Four. This pattern is exclusively part of the bundle. I love this organizer for stowing knitting, sewing supplies, just about anything you can think of! The pocket in front has elastics to hold pens or other tools, and the rigid dividers on the inside are removable thanks to Velcro (hook and loop)!

Finished Size: 12-3/4” long x 6” tall x 5-3/4” deep (32cm x 15cm x 15cm)

The bundle includes the pdf patterns and videos to make all 12 projects.

Each pdf pattern includes sewing instructions, complete with step-by-step color photos. Also included in the PDF pattern are printable pattern pieces for your home printer. The following files will all be included with your PDF pattern purchase:

  • SVG Files (for electric cutting machines, such as the Brother Scan N Cut and the Cricut Maker)
  • Projector Files (for use with home projectors for cutting out fabric; please see the group Projectors for Sewing for more information)
  • A0 Files (large-format 33″ x 46″ pattern page for printing at your local copy shop, in case you would rather not tape together the pattern pages that are included in the PDF pattern)

Supplies

  • 1 yard/metre of exterior fabric
  • 1 yard/metre of lining fabric
  • 1/2 yard/metre of foam interfacing (By Annie’s Soft and Stable, Pellon Flex Foam, Bosal In-R-Form, or automotive
headliner; if using Flex Foam, it is only 20” wide so please purchase 2 yards)
  • 3 yard/metre 20” wide Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex fusible woven interfacing (or med-weight fusible interfacing)
  • 1 yard/metre of Pellon Peltex #71 ultra-firm fusible interfacing OR Decovil Heavy
  • 1/4 yard of mesh fabric
  • 1/2 yard/metre of fold over elastic (either 1/2” wide or 5/8” wide)
  • 1/2 yard/metre of 1/4” wide braided elastic
  • 2/3 yard/metre of 5/8” wide sew-in Velcro (hook and loop closure) (1/2” is fine too)
  • Two 14” handbag zippers for mesh zippered pockets
  • 24” handbag zipper for front pocket (either one zipper pull or two pulls; I used two)
  • 30” handbag zipper for top closure (either one zipper pull or two pulls; I used two)
  • Optional: 2 rivets or Chicago screws

Thank you to Chera for the lovely photos, and also thank you so much to all of the pattern testers for their hard work! Please take a look at their finished organizers below.
