I was super excited to try Julie’s Sidekick ruler and Giggles pattern so I immediately began to pull fabrics based one of my favorite fabric lines, Echo by Lotta Jansdotter–navy, teal, and grey are so pretty together!
The instructions are super easy to understand and the ruler is simple to use!  I would say that if you are using a lot of directional prints, this pattern could give you a headache.
All cut out and ready to sew!
I worked with two rows at a time chain piecing.  I kept the pattern nearby so I wouldn’t get confused about what direction the shapes needed to be going and how to assemble the little triangles.  I’m happy to say I never had to bust out my seam ripper!
One thing I did change in the instructions was the way I pressed my seams.  The instructions say to press seams open and I’m usually all about that, but I found, in this case, pressing the rows in alternating directions helped line up the points much better.  Just my personal observation.
A quick free motion quilting job later and voila! Instant cute baby quilt!  This ruler and pattern are so great because it’s just as easy as basic patchwork, but the design looks much more polished (and like you put a bit of effort in).

Gotta tell you, when I first looked at your fabric choices I was skeptical! However, the finished quilt proves that you were right, they work beautifully! I could use a lesson from you to get away from my usual “safe” choices.

I love how you used the linen in this quilt – I am inspired to do something similar for a baby quilt I need to get working on. Thanks for a great post.
