P.S. I Quilt – Postage Stamp Quilt Along

So I thought I would have a little time to relax before the Heather Ross Quilt Along starting in February. But my friend, Kim, is very devious. She sent me a message today that P.S. I Quilt is doing a Postage Stamp Quilt Along. She wanted me to join with her. I asked when it started, and she said, “It is starting now…get fabrics!”  ::smacks forehead::

So after some deliberation, I decided I was going to use these fabrics for my quilt:

I am also going to mix some solid fabrics in, but I am not sure if I should use white or a combination of solid colors (purple, green, and blue). If you’re reading this and commenting, please let me know your suggestion! 🙂

I’m really looking forward to this. Besides having the pleasure of finishing a quilt, there are also big prizes for the Fat Quarter Shop for all finishes.

I really like the idea of the solid colors. It would keep it bright but the white would tie it all together. I don’t know if that helps! Have fun!

If I were using those colors, I’d use a solid matching green, aqua, purple AND white.

Just scatter them around…make it cool looking.

    Can’t wait to see it!

    Oh boy, this is tempting!

I agree with Marilyn, I like the idea of all 4 solid colors in a random pattern.

    Purple green and blue!! 🙂

I would probably lean towards either doing mostly whites as the solids or not using any white because with those patterns and bold solids small random patches of would likely be attention drawing… which I think is fine and even could be fun, but since it might require more creative tinkering attention with placement of those white squares (to decide how you would like to spread the attention/lead the eye) it might require more attention than you’d want right now leading into HR.

But that said I just had a fun idea with how I’d use minimal white as a feature… so I’m sure you could swing it if you were interested. 🙂

Thanks Stina! Great idea! I wanted to send you a message and see what your fun idea was, but you’re a “no-reply” commenter! 🙁
