Clover Sunshine

As I sit here, barely able to type out of exhaustion, my inner self gives a little “yippee!!” as I am happy to introduce Alison Glass’s new line for Andover Fabrics called ‘Clover Sunshine’.

Alison has a lot of fabric coming out this year, including ‘Sunprint’. However, ‘Clover Sunshine’ is full of whimsical and bright prints that are sure to delight your inner (sophisticated!) child. The prints are just lush and full of the kind of color that magnetizes me.

Alison says this about the new line: “Clover Sunshine is a collection celebrating love and favorite things. To honor my daughter, Anna and I talked about her favorite things, ideas that make her happy, which makes me happy, but it’s not really about things. It’s about relationships. When someone loves someone else, and wants to celebrate the other, that can be expressed in many ways. This is my expression of love, however it represents ties and commitments in whatever form they are for different people. Clover Sunshine is inspired by the important idea that people are connected, and the goodness that can come from knowing others.”

I think that is just beautiful.

If you love these fabrics, there’s a great free quilt pattern on the Andover site called the Cobblestone Quilt.

I was honored to be able to work with a project using a bit of Clover Sunshine. I decided to draft this bag pattern (out in a few weeks! It’s going out to my pattern testers now.) called the ‘Park West Bag’. The original goal was to have the pattern ready for release for today’s blog post, but a bunch of other things blew that plan out of the water. I honestly barely finished sewing the bag in time!

I chose a pale purple solid (I can’t remember if it was Kona or otherwise, as my solids are not labelled, and I have a lot of them, lol) to accent the bag, and to use on the straps. The bag also features a recessed zipper, which is super super easy (I’d say even easier than a zippered pouch). There are some nice pockets on the sides, and also a zippered pocket on the lining of the bag.

And here I am in a (coincidentally) matching shirt, looking, dare I say, a bit grumpy. It’s not you, it’s me.

And have you entered to win Alison Glass’s massive 74 fat quarter giveaway?? No?? Head on over to Alison’s site!

  15. That is a great bag! I would love to test it using the new fabric I just got with chairs on it. I want to use it for my decorating business and I want that center portion with a zippered section in the middle so I can organize folders and price lists. Oh, please couldn’t I test it?
