This post is part of the Craft Book Month blog hop at Craft Buds. I’m going to tell you a little bit about Craft Book Month, and then we’ll get back to the pillow. 🙂 Personally, I thought Craft Book Month was one of the best blog hops last year. There were interviews with publishing editors and authors, projects from books, not to mention giveaways for tons of these lovely books! I just love finding out about new books that have great projects in them. Sometimes it’s hard to tell from the description of the book online as to whether it will be a good one or not, but Craft Book Month took away all the guesswork!

So back to the pillow! The pattern makes a 60″ long body pillow, which I bought at Target for around $7.50. The pattern is really easy! Each row is one print sewn to a background fabric in a tube, and then cut in alternating spots to make them look staggered. At first I was paying a lot of attention to the layout and how I was cutting, but soon I realized that it doesn’t really matter where you cut, it will look good just about anywhere. I aligned my fabrics in color order, which worked out well with this fabric line.
My family just loves this pillow, I’ve actually been keeping it on the living room couch, and my kids curl up around it. If I watch tv at night, it’s a nice head support. It’s probably getting the most use out of everything that I’ve made!
This pillow would be appropriate for a beginner. It went together fast and easy, and if you have Tula Pink’s book, the pillow is definitely a beautiful compliment to a lot of the other quilts in the book. Check back here on September 25th for the kick-off of the Tula Pink Sew Along…lots of great quilts and prizes coming your way!!
Your pillow is a wonderful project – I love your hand-dyed fabrics!! Perfect color choice to make the Tula fabrics pop. Thanks for sharing!

I just love that all your projects are so vibrant and unique. This pillow is by far the coolest body pillow I have ever seen. I can’t wait to see what you make next! –By the way, I am crazy about that shade of green on the walls in the picture. Your house must be unforgettable.
