It’s that time again! I’m excited to introduce you to the 4th free project and video to go along with our Sew Sweetness Book Club discussion.
Before you begin watching the video, please download the free Suffolk Coin Purse PDF Pattern here: PATTERN – Suffolk Coin Purse
If you have an electric cutting machine (such as the Cricut Maker, etc.) you can find the SVG Files for this pattern by clicking here.
This coin purse uses a coin purse frame (either a small or large frame – both sizes are included in the pattern). It’s a really quick project that makes a great gift!
For my video sample, I used fabric designed by Suzuko Koseki. My other samples were made in Tula Pink fabrics.
Small 3-3/4” long x 3-1/2” tall x 1” deep (9.5cm x 8.9cm x 2.5cm)
Large 6” long x 4-1/4” tall x 1-1/2” deep (15.2cm x 10.8cm x 3.8cm)
SUPPLIES
• 8” x 12” (20cm x 30.5cm) square of exterior fabric
• 8” x 12” (20cm x 30.5cm) square of lining fabric
• 8” x 12” (20cm x 30.5cm) square of foam interfacing (By Annie’s Soft and Stable, Pellon Flex Foam, Bosal In-RForm,
or automotive headliner)
• 8” x 12” (20cm x 30.5cm) square of Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex fusible woven interfacing (medium-weight fusible)
• purse frame (curved 6” x 2-3/4” frame for size large or curved 3-3/4″ x 2″ for size small) (15.2cm x 7cm or 9.5cm x 5cm, respectively)
• Fabric glue (I used Beacon 3-1 glue)
Can’t download the pattern. Says “Forbidden.”
Thank you for your lovely pattern. Would love to buy supplies from your but postage would be to expensive.
Th pattern did not print. Only the pictures of the coin purse.
How can I get the pattern. I purchased the frames.
Hi Joan, I’ve emailed you the pattern again – if it’s still not printing, it may be a printer/low ink issue. Thank you!
Thanks very much for the free pattern! I have never made one of these, so looking forward to it. All the best to you and yours!
Of course! Happy sewing!
Your patterns are very well written’ you explain everything so well. When you do videos they are great, I can sew and stop / start and follow you so well. Thank you Sara for all your hard work, for the great book selections and all the free patterns.
When I downloaded the pattern, I could get nothing for the first page, but every other page came out really well. It’s not a big hassle as I can make something up, but just wondered if anyone else has had this problem, if so, what am I doing wrong?
Aww, thank you so much Yvonne!!
Also, I’ll email you the pattern again. Thank you!
Sara, thank you so much for emailing me the pattern, it worked and I’ve printed it out ready to start sewing soon. Best wishes and thank you ♥️♥️
This pattern only makes the large coin purse – no pattern for the small coin purse unless you buy the die?
Your PDF handling software should allow you to print the large pattern in a smaller size. 80% would be a good choice.
Janell I checked again. The pattern page for the large coin purse also has a template for a smaller purse.
Where do you buy the frames? I’m going to join to get the pattern but I’d like to know my frames are on the way.
I just downloaded the pattern with video…on waiting list for the frames. Where do I view the video ? Videos are so helpful to combine with the written instructions. Thank you ~
never mind, I found it after looking closer to the page.
My favorite pattern. Thank you
c’est vraiment très mignon
merci et bravo
Thank you for the pattern !
I’m making Clydebank bags for my daughter and daughter in law for Christmas and this coin purse will go with them perfectly. Your are so inspiring !
Thanks again,
Carolyn Holland
Merci c’est très sympa
pour des petits cadeaux pour Noël
I just love the coin purse, but can’t get the large frames. When will you have them back in stock? I have everything cut out and ready to sew! Thank you
Hi Cara! I’m so sorry that we are out of stock on these! I am hoping they will arrive around the end of September. Thank you!
It says that I am forbiden from getting the svg files. Is there anywhere else I can get them.
Hello Peggy, my apologies! You can find the SVG files here (via the dropdown box in the product listing): https://sewsweetness.com/products/suffolk-coin-purse
Thank you!
So excited to find your site! I have always wanted to make a coin purse, but unsure. Your pattern is so easy to follow. Thank you for the free patterns. I am disappointed the frames are out of stock at this time too. I wanted to purchase them from you.
Your bags seem to be addicting and I have already picked out future projects and will be a paying customer!
Thank you for getting me started with free patterns.
Thank you Darrene! We are expecting a shipment of the coin purse frames this upcoming Monday (as long as there aren’t any delays with the shipping carrier). Thank you!
