This giveaway is for five PDF patterns! Once you get scrolling through the website, you will be in awe of the amount of patterns that you get to chose from, which really is the fun part!
The Audrey Dress, runs from size 0-22, has a fantastic relaxed style with kimono sleeves and two necklines to choose from. Fun and flirty in a wild knit print or make this garment office ready in a beautiful rayon.
The Lesley Flutter Top is another great pattern for those who want that perfect top, this is an open draped sleeve and fitted at the hips, it also has an optional contrast band for a more professional look. This would be great for a warm summer night out with the girls! Sizes run from 0-26!
We can’t forget those little boys in our lives, it’s so hard to find unique patterns for them.

The Yoga Pants for Women, sizes 0-18. These pants have a fold-over knit waistband, wear them cropped or full length. Also there are a few hemming options. You will get the best fit with this pattern! Usually I purchase about 3-4 yards if I absolutely can’t live without it!
I usually find fabric I want for either a purse or something for my little one, so I usually only get a yard.
I usually buy 2 metres to cover me!
If it is for my little one, then 2 yards. If it for me than 3 or 4. 🙂 Thank you for the giveaway!!
For the garments I make, 3 yards covers it and gives me some wiggle room.
Usually 2 metres or if it’s really expensive I just buy one metre and try and squeeze a bag or a top out of it! x
2-3 yards usually covers whatever I might make in the future.
I haVent sewn many garments for myself so I haven’t stashed much garment fabric!
For clothing, I have always bought 3 yards, and that way I have enough to trim a matching top or even another project if I want to make another one.
3. Always 3. It’s a problem that I’m working on.
Usually 3 metres depending on the width
I never buy enough! That’s for sure. I end up buying a metre and thinking, “Oh I can make a top or a bag out of this” and then I end up wanting to make a dress or something else that needs significantly more fabric. My husband (gotta love him) always tells me if I like something I should buy extra, but I can’t seem to let go of the “Eeek! I can’t spend this much money on something I don’t even have a use for yet” thought process (of course then it ends up sitting in my stash forever because there’s not enough to do much of anything with.)
I stash 1-2 yards for something for the littles, 2-3 yards for something for me, but I’ve found often enough that when I buy 2 I wish I’d bought 3 as I like a good flowy dress.
I buy a lot of my fabric at a factory warehouse sale so you buy remnants from bins and are stuck with the size but the prices are so good it is worth it
2 or 3 yards and I am very inconsistent on how I choose that number.
3 yards.
I usually buy fabric with a pattern in mind, but on the odd occasions when I don’t know what I’m going to make, I usually get 2-3 metres depending on the fabric width.
Since I mainly sew garments, I play it safe with 3 yards.
I don’t usually buy to stash for myself, but when Ii do it for my kids I buy a yard or 2 (depending on the price and how good the sale is!).
I don’t do too much garment sewing, but these patterns are adorable.
2-3 yards depending on what I think I might make with it.
Usually 3-4 yards.
2 or 3 yards. It’s always wrong though 🙂
I selDom buy enough. But I always think I buy too much.
I usually buy 2 yards if I know it will be used for a top, and 2-1/2 to 3 yards of pants. However my last shopping trip to NYC I found a great buy on black ponte so I bought 5 yards! Handbag fabric I buy at least 1 yard.
I need to work on buying appropriate yardage for stash apparel fabric — for a while, I was buying 1 yard cuts, which is too small! >_<
Most often 1.5 meter because I buy a lot of precut coupons that are that long.
I buy two yards and make it work. Fortunately I’m small and very short!
It has literally been decades since I have made a garment, so I have no garment-specific fabric! I’m a quilter and my favorite way to buy fabric is by the 15 yard bolt!!
At least 2 yards if I can. I am almost 6″ tall, so even a shirt I need two yards.
Usually 2, but find I’m short sometimes.
2-2.5yrds depending on what I think I might make.
I buy 1.5 to 2 yards, thinking I can make a skirt at some point.
I usually buy 2 and if I really like it I’ll buy 3 to be on the safe side.
At least 2 or 3 yards. That way I know I can make either a top or a skirt. I buy more if I know I want to make a dress.
I’m just beginning to see so I’m mostly thinking of making tops or non-float dresses, so 1.5 to 2 yards!
Usually 3 yards, sometimes I can get away with 2 if it’s 60″.
At least two yards, but if there’s any chance it could turn into a dress then three yards.
Usually 1 or 2 metres.
3 yards
3m. You can never have too MUCH fabric 🙂
Three! But sometimes four if I get really good price. 🙂
I used to buy 1 yard because I only ever made clothes for my two little ones. But now that they are almost 3 and 5, and I have ventured into sewing for me!, I get 2 yards for them and 3 yards for me. But I still have a lot of 1 yard pieces of fabric that never were turned into anything!
I’m pretty confident about buying 3 yards of fabric to make into a garment at a later date. If I find I don’t have enough, back I go to the fabric shop!
I usually get two or three depending upon what I “think” the fabric might be nice for. Sometimes four.
Usually I buy 2 yds if it is a knit and wide and 3 yds if it’s 45″ wide
I usually only buy about two yards of fabric, which, due to my size, can usually give me a dress (if it is 60″ wide) or a maxi skirt and top. If the fabric is only 45″ wide, I might buy 2 1/2-3 yards if I think I might make a dress.
I would usually buy 2 yards unless I new that it was destined for a dress if some sort (like the AMH Loominous, I have vague plans for you!) in which case I’d buy three
Hi. I usually buy two yards. That way, of I never get around to sewing a garment, I can make a quilt. Love the patterns. Thank you.
I usually buy 2.5 yards for 45″ wide fabric and 2 yards for 60″ wide fabric. Im pretty short so that should be enough for a dress or pants depending on the style sometimes I can even use less.
I usually buy two or three yards. I use left overs for quilts!
For a bag I’ll usually buy 1 1/2 yds, for a top 2 – 2 1/2 yds. Many thanks!
I Usually buy 2 yards
2.5 yds.
I usually get 2 to 3 yards
For clothes- I usually get 2-4 yards!
3 yards. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
3 metres. I’m Canadian!
If it is really lovely, I would say 4 yards. 🙂
I don’t have enough garment-sewing experience to know how much fabric to buy if I were stashing it for a future garment. Totally going to read other people’s answers right now!
3 yards
Depends, but generally 1 yard for a knit shirt, 1 1/2 for a non-knit shirt, 2 for a skirt, 3 for a dress.
I usually purchase 3-4 yards.
I usually get 1-2 yards
3 yards
I usually buy 3 yards…sometimes 5 Depends on what it is…cotton, flannel, etc
Usually 3 yards since I am a plus size and want to make sure I have enough.
I’m glad you asked this question. I am new to garment sewing and wondered how much was reasonable to buy when I didn’t have a pattern picked out. The few fabrics I’ve bought were only 1 – 1.5 yards and I don’t seem to have enough for the patterns I want to try! It sounds like 2-3 is a good number.
I buy usually 2 yards of fabric. A few days ago I bought 2y of voile and now I’m looking for a pattern:)
I used to buy 1,5 to 2 metres, but now I buy 3 metres or more, since I love ’50s style circle dresses 🙂
I buy 2 yds at least of I really like it!
Usually 3 yards.
My default is 2 meters
I usually buy 2 yards!
Between 2 and 2 1/2 yards!
1.5 yards if I think its a top, 3 if I really can’t decide
If I think I want to make a dress out of it, 3-4 yards. Less for a fabric I think will be a top.
I buy 2 yards. Enough for a maxi skirt or top.
Usually 2 yards if I love it!
I’ll usually buy 2 yards and it works well for me.
I usually feel like I bought too much until it’s time to cut – then it’s never enough! If I love it I try to get 3 yards.
Probably 3 yards, thank you,
I always buy 2 meters 😉
I usually buy at lease 2 yards, sometimes 3 yards if I really love the print. Two yards is enough to make a top.
I usually buy 3 yards.
1 to 2 yards
I’m new to making clothes so I haven’t done this yet, and I hope I don’t. I’d probably end up picking a pattern and then finding I didn’t have enough fabric to make it.
The usual amount to buy is 4 yards — just to be sure I have enough regardless of what I choose to make.
I usually buy 2 to 3 yards.
I usually buy 2-3 yards to stash. Sometimes, I don’t have enough when I get around to using it! 🙁
I usually buy 3 or 4 yards
I haven’t bought fabric for garment sewing before. But based on my size & depending on wether it’s a top or dress I would buy 2-3 yards.
If I’m thinking dress, I’ll buy 3-4 yards. For pants, I go with 3 yards. I really do try not to stash garment fabric though. 🙂
I would love to try these patterns. I’m just learning to sew clothing. Thanks for the chance to win.
