Quilt Market – Melody Miller

Melody Miller’s booth was actually the first one that I visited at Quilt Market. I hopped off the escalator, and I was right there. It was like magic. I was by myself, and a little nervous about some meetings I had scheduled that day. And nervous to meet Melody because I’m a chicken. I can’t remember what exactly I said to her, but it probably sounded something like this, “Mqwrhasdfnhalkwerhagasdf.” I wish I could say that I had a picture of the two of us standing together (or better yet, sitting on her fabulous couch), but…yeah.

Kim and I, and the Typewriter Dress

I think Melody’s booth was the most meticulously put together. She had tons of vintage Pyrex, and old brightly-colored phones, with the numbered dials all switched around. Really cute! The booth was pretty much an “experience”. Love that pink Typewriter coin purse!

The quilt in the booth was probably the best showcase of her new fabrics. My favorites are of course the records! I e-mailed my favorite Kokka shop on Etsy, Mountain of the Dragon, earlier today, and told her, “Girl, as soon as those fabrics get to you, I need them. Me first.” Or something like that.

Hope you enjoyed the photos of Melody’s booth…I wish I had taken more! Ah, for being starstruck. And thanks to Kim for letting me swipe her couch photo.

Melody also had a newspaper printed with some of her artwork and writings. I wish I could accurately duplicate them for you here, but because of the large size of the pages, I couldn’t. I at least wanted to show you the writing, because I really liked it. I hope you enjoy.
