Bag of the Month Club 2015

BagoftheMonthLogo

Hey everyone! I am very excited that today, pre-orders are going on sale for the Bag of the Month Club for 2015! If you are not familiar with the club, please click here to view the club offerings for last year’s club so you can get a taste of the quality of bag patterns that are in store for you in 2015 (and you can also see all of the MANY bags completed by our members from 2014, in our Flickr Group)!

The Details

6 of the best bag sewing pattern designers in the business are teaming together to bring you a 6-month membership club. The club runs from January-June of 2015. Each month, you will receive an exclusive and brand-new pdf bag sewing pattern from that month’s designer, delivered directly to your inbox. If you are familiar with even one of the designers, then you know that you can expect a high-quality and easy-to-understand sewing pattern each month!

The bag designs will be a mystery until each pattern is revealed every month. We promise, they will definitely be worth the wait! The patterns will be exclusive to the club for the duration. Each pdf pattern will be delivered on the 1st of the month, and will include detailed instructions, illustrations/photos, and templates needed to make the bag pattern.

If you join after the club begins, you will receive all patterns released to the club up until that point (for instance, if you join on February 14th, you will receive the patterns for January and February automatically).

We are all so excited for you to join us! The one-time fee for 6 months of Bag of the Month Club is $40, during which time you will receive 6 pdf bag sewing patterns. The club runs from January through June of 2014. The club is a great value; pdf bag sewing patterns usually cost around $10 each, and you will be receiving 6 patterns for only $40!

The Designers

BOMCLong

January – Samantha from Sewing Patterns with Mrs. H. is a Welsh pattern designer with a group of pretty yet practical bags in her pattern library. I heard about January’s bag design and I was very excited, as it’s a piece of purse hardware that I have never used before, but always wanted to. Look out for January’s bag, as it’s going to be amazing!

February – I am up for February. I like bags with a lot of pretty details, and we had a lot of requests last time for smaller bags, so I’m going to see what I can come up with! I keep going back and forth between a small bag and a cross-body bag…we’ll see!

March – Anna from Noodlehead has many versatile free tutorials and paid patterns on her site, many of which are wildly popular with quilters! Anna’s first book is due out in February, called Handmade Style: 24 Must-Have Basics to Stitch, Use, and Wear.

April – Janelle of Emmaline Bags. Janelle has a thriving pattern business, where she also sells all the hardware, handles, and interfacing needed to make the bag patterns in her shop. Janelle’s first book is coming out in 2015.

May – Betz White is a bag designer and textile artist, and she is the author of three books, most recently Present Perfect: 25 Gifts to Sew and Bestow. You can find her patterns available on-line in her pattern shop, as well as her video classes on Creative Bug and Craftsy.

June –  Chris of Chris W. Designs is an Australian bag pattern designer, and Chris has sewing patterns available for various skill levels. Her linky party, Bag Brag Tuesday, is also great for linking up your finished projects and seeing what everyone else is making!

Ooh, your first bag! You are so fortunate to have wandered upon this site and Sara’s great hosting of the Bag of the month club. I’ve been sewing bags for about two years and these six designers really are the best in the industry! All of them have great details in their instructions and lots and lots of photos. AND, if you do have a snag, just email the designer and all of them get back to you promptly! You will truly enjoy all of the pattern makers in this list. Welcome Aboard the Purse Party!

  18. Helen Marshall says:

My relationship with the Internet is one of two extremes – either I’m systematically (and increasingly frantically) searching for something specific, or I trip over something by accident that I didn’t know existed, but was obviously designed just for me. I was delighted to trip over a mention of this club! I don’t even know where I saw it, I was in such a rush to sign up. Looking forward to what I have decided will be my challenge for 2015.

  19. Suzanne says:

My sweet children gave me this for my Christmas, because I had so much fun last year. Best present ever! Can we get a hint of the hardware needed?? So we can have it lined up and ready to go.

  20. Elisa Bartie says:

Hi! I wanto to join in, but it says the product no longer exists… Can I still be part of the group?

  25. claudia says:

Hi, I love the Carpet Bag!! How can I just but the Carpet Bag pattern without joining the whole club or group of patterns? I hope to hear from you Thank you

  26. Monika Grifin says:

Hi Sara, I’ve only received the January pattern, which I haven’t made yet as I was waiting for the handles to arrive. How do I go about getting the Feb and March pattern. Yes I have joined and don’t know why I didn’t receive them.

  29. Roberta says:

Will the designers be offering the individual patterns in their shops without having to join the club? There are only a couple of designs I would really like.

  30. Patricia Vajda says:

Can I still get the bags for 2014? I joined for the 2015 BOTMC, but missed out on 2014.

  31. Margaret says:

Well that’s embarrassing. I finally figured out how to join the bag club. I thought I was doing ijoining for July. Well thank you I got the six previous months patterns. well that’s embarrassing.
oops I better stop looking before I get myself in more trouble.

  32. I just realized that I probably received the bag for June and it went to my spam folder and I was too quick to delete the folder and failed to check/retrieve the email. What do I need to do in order to receive the June bag of the month?

  33. Amy Sessions says:

I just learned to sew this past week and I’ve made five bags so far… then I stumbled on to this BotM group on FB but couldn’t join since it only runs for the first six month. Is there way to get an email alert for next year?
