Here’s a closer look at the Catalan Storage Cube from Minikins Season Four. This pattern is exclusively part of the bundle. This storage cube is perfect for craft rooms, living rooms, or play rooms and comes in a square version and a rectangle version.
Finished Size:
- Square – 10-3/8” long x 9-3/4” tall x 10-3/8” deep (26cm x 25cm x 26cm)
- Rectangle – 14-3/8” long x 9-3/4” tall x 10-3/8” deep (36cm x 25cm x 36cm)
The bundle includes the pdf patterns and videos to make all 12 projects.
Each pdf pattern includes sewing instructions, complete with step-by-step color photos. Also included in the PDF pattern are printable pattern pieces for your home printer. The following files will all be included with your PDF pattern purchase:
- SVG Files (for electric cutting machines, such as the Brother Scan N Cut and the Cricut Maker)
- Projector Files (for use with home projectors for cutting out fabric; please see the group Projectors for Sewing for more information)
- A0 Files (large-format 33″ x 46″ pattern page for printing at your local copy shop, in case you would rather not tape together the pattern pages that are included in the PDF pattern)
Supplies (will make 1 cube)
- 1/3 yard/metre of exterior fabric A (for upper portion)
- 2/3 yard/metre of exterior fabric B (for lower portion)
- 1 yard/metre of lining fabric
- 8”x 8” (20.3cm x 20.3cm) piece of fabric for handles
- 2/3 yard/metre of foam interfacing (By Annie’s Soft and Stable, Pellon Flex Foam, Bosal In-R-Form, or automotive headliner; if using Flex Foam, it is only 20” wide, so please purchase 1-1/2 yards)
- 2 yards/metres 20” wide Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex fusible woven interfacing (or med-weight fusible interfacing)
- Optional: 1-1/2 yard/metre of fusible Decovil Heavy* (Decovil Light or Pellon Decor Bond will also work)
*it will be an easier sew without the Decovil, although the storage cube will have nice stiffness - False bottom material*
- One metal frame – size square – 10-3/4” x 10-3/4” metal frame
size rectangle – 14-3/4” x 10-3/4” metal frame - Optional: 4 rivets OR Chicago screws
*Note: The false bottom material offers extra stability to the bottom of the storage cube. A variety of different materials can be used, such as foam core board, plastic cross stitch canvas, 1/4” plywood, etc. I used a piece of corrugated plastic. You will need one piece that is 10-1/2” x 10-1/2” for size square, and 14-1/2” x 10-1/2” for size rectangle (or increase size respectively if using multiple layers).
Thank you to Chera for the lovely photos, and also thank you so much to all of the pattern testers for their hard work! Please take a look at their projects below.
