VIDEO: How to Veer a Zipper off the Edge of the Fabric

In this demonstration, I will show you how to veer the zipper off the end of the fabric. I use this technique in several of my patterns, including the Cotton Candy Pouch.

Just wondering… wouldn’t it work just as well to take the bottom end of the zip off the fabric the same as the top end? Both make it so that you can topstitch, but this would have it hanging down inside.

    1. Sara Lawson says:

Hi Nancy! This could be done, it would just change things a bit for the topstitching – because of the “tail” of the zipper that is left, you can spread both side panels apart for easier topstitching. Without the tail, the one end of the Side Panel would be pinched in, if that makes sense.
