March 2021 Challenge

Welcome to the March Challenge! Every month there will be a new challenge and you’ll have all month to get your entries in. One randomly chosen winner will be awarded a $100 gift certificate for Sew Sweetness and be announced in the next month’s newsletter.

This month’s challenge is all about upcycling! I’ve seen some great examples lately of pouches and bags made with ties, tea towel and even leather from a sofa! We’re not suggesting you cut up something that is still useful, but if it has reached the end of its useful life in its current form, think about transforming it! I chose to cut up 2 shirts that were pretty old, fraying, and a little worse for wear! For reasons that make sense only to me (!) I wear 3 different pairs of glasses. With 2 separate sections, the small Annex double-zip boxed pouch was the perfect choice to store 2 pairs of glasses whilst I wear the third pair!

So choose your Sew Sweetness pattern and when you’ve finished, upload your photo below. One entry per person and no reposting from previous months please! If you have trouble uploading, please email your picture to [email protected] and I’ll happily help you.

Please enter your own photo in the linky tool below so your fellow sewists can see your beautiful work!

Random winner will be chosen after March 31, 2021 out of all entries received. The winner for March is #18 Tania Tan.

IMPORTANT: In the Linky Tool, when it asks #1 Link To, just enter www.sewsweetness.com.

Thank you for this challenge. Perfect timing too. Turned a pajama top and old pants into dumpling pouches. Uploaded my image twice by mistake. Sorry 🙂
