Pattern Hack – Suffolk Coin Purse with Zipper

Here’s a pattern hack for the Suffolk Coin Purse. This modification is for adding a zipper instead of the metal frame, and also an optional wrist strap. Thanks to Michelle Graham for designing this pattern hack!

You can download Michelle’s instructions for the pattern hack here: Suffolk Coin Purse with a Zipper and Wrist Strap Hack
(you will also need a copy of the Suffolk Coin Purse pattern)

I am glad I found this hack. I made the Suffolk Coin Purse today and it does not fit the purse frame I purchased along with the pattern. The contour of the frame does not match the top of the coin purse. So I will try the zipper & wrist strap tomorrow. Thank you.

Hello there! I’m sorry you are having trouble with the frame on the Suffolk, I’m happy to help. Do you know if you used Adobe Reader to print out your pattern pieces (rather than a web browser) and printed at Actual Size?

I used the acrylic pattern I recently bought from you. The lining was quite baggy, too. I have made several other small coin purses that use frames (another brand) and did not run into these problems.
But I am going to try making the Suffolk coin purse again, with a couple of adjustments. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the reply.
