I write 1 check every three weeks, when I get my hair cut. I usually keep $10 in my purse for emergencies. Everything else is credit card. I am 80 years old.

Yes, still use paper checks. Some vendors do not have on line payments. Also a check book of 50 checks lasts us about 2 years.

yes, I do use paper checks and refuse to get a debt card. Either cash or check for me. Thank You, I am headed to the sewing machine to make this. Love it. Have cork left over so THANK YOU!!

  5. Love this simple and quick design for another cork project! I always keep paper checks handy — just ordered a new set since we moved and I had to update my address. I mostly write in the register to make sure I mark down my debit card uses but certain of my small business suppliers do not take credit cards so I have to write a check or two each month. Thanks for this video tutorial and the pattern!

My poly checkbook cover is old, worn out, wobbly and curling up and quite frankly, an embarrassment. I still have to write the occasional check for businesses that don’t use plastic or the times that retailers’ payment systems go down. Looking forward to browsing cork fabric and making myself a new check cover (on my new sewing machine that I am learning to use).

Thank You Sara for this pattern and demo and yes indeed, I still use checks for some businesses locally.

  8. Yes, I use paper checks, I have credit cards, no debit cards and do pay some bills online. Love the checkbook cover, thank you. Sharon

I do use paper checks but I no longer carry my checkbook in my purse. I mainly use them to pay individuals like my hair stylist and cleaning person.

  10. Lisa Carnahan says:

I write a check every week for church. Also, use paper check to pay taxes.

Hi, in the UK cheque books are almost non existent but what a great video, I could adapt that for my passport, thanks for the idea

We pay a few things online but we still prefer to use paper checks to pay certain bills. I had made checkbook covers for our accounts using Kraft Tex paper but I’m going to try the cork pattern. Thanks Sara.

  15. I do still write a few check. Most things I pay online but a few I have to use checks for.

  16. Yes, I love to write a check here and there. It makes me feel nostalgic. I get tired of everything being on the computer, although I do pay online a lot too. Also, I use my credit card for most everything to get cashback (and for convenience). But it’s great to write a check. (Although checks are probably the least secure way of paying next to cash.) Thanks for your tutorials! I’ve just found them and love them while in isolation! ;-D Hope I don’t run out of cork before I can go shopping!

  17. Roxanne says:

Yes, we use paper checks, though not as often as a few years ago.

  18. Sylvia says:

I can’t remember the last time I had to write a cheque. I don’t even know where my cheques are anymore. In most of Canada we either use credit or debit with tap technology (safest method of payment by far as machines can’t skim your card number or pin number) or, for bills, almost all can be paid online through your bank or sent as an e-transfer via email. I don’t even get paper copies of bills anymore! I have not had any compromised cards since these things have been in use here. When I’m travelling, I cringe when a server wants to take my card out of my hands to ‘process’ it.

I still use paper checks occasionally. I find this needs one more part like a plastic insert to separate your checks when writing on them. Nice otherwise. Now a foldable wallet with credit card holder would be nice too.
