I just wanted to share this week’s episode of ‘Ask Sara’ with you – this week I talked about my sewing machine. I get a lot of emails asking which machine I use, so I thought I’d give you a quick tour of my actual machine! Enjoy!
You can find Juki machines here (they ship!): https://www.sewminithings.com/ I got my newest machine here and they are wonderful to work with. Just ask for Timm!

I missed the live broadcast, but I have been a bag lady for decades!!!! I have several sewing machines. The Brother PQ1500S is very similar to your Juki machine as it is a straight stitch too and I have had it since 2008. Great for bag making. I am from New Mexico. I will try to attend the next live podcast. Thanks Sara!
I have a Pfaff Expression 4 and I just got a Sailrite LS-1
I have a Babylock Flourish embroidery machine. Love it.

Hello, I have a Singer Brillance, Love it fir sewing bags.
HI Sara, I have the same machine and you do need to try the knee lift. Amazing when you use it with the foot petal cutter. Saves time and fatigue. Thanks for your description.
I will have to get that knee lift set up!!
Hi, from Arizona. I have a Kemore. This my 2nd one. I just purchased a Juki TL-98 QE and love it. I’ve used the walking foot when putting on binding. Love your videos very informative. Thx
Thank you very much, Elaine!
I missed the live video but finally got to watch it today. I finally got a Juki and I loved to see how thick you could sew through. I sew through leather and fur and it can get pretty thick so I think this will be a great machine for bags and bears! I love your videos and always learn something new. I hope your retreats will be somewhere near that I can attend. Thanks again for such great work!
I have a Juki HZL-F400 and LOVE it. Do you know of other companies feet that will snap on to my machine. I purchased a commercial embroidery machine 13 years ago because everything I wanted to do, a larger hoop was needed. The only issue I have had is some of the in the hoop projects are not programed to make the stops needed. What I like about the larger machine is you don’t have to sit and change each thread and I could sew on my regular machine while embroidery was running.
Hi Michele from Australia. I have a juki tl 98p straight stitch. I would struggle to sew through that many layers. I also hafe a knee lift and don’t use it. I have recently got a second hand Singer industrial.
where did u buy your machine and how do u get repairs
Hello Carol! I purchased my machine from Sew Vac Direct online; I also purchased several machines from Sew to Speak to use at my sewing retreats: https://www.sewtospeakshoppe.com/machine-shop Most sewing machine shops or quilt shops have a travelling service person (at least, the shops in my area do), and I take my machine to one of these shops whenever I need maintenance. Hope this helps!
I have a Brother CE8080 and just recently acquired a Juki HZL-DK-7 which I love. It has the automatic threader, the cutter button, automatic backstitching and thread cutting which I find useful. Also the knee lifter which I have not used.I just tested it with 2 layers of foam and 3 layers of vinyl… no problem. Thanks for the video.
Juki DX7
