I loved your Facebook video tonight of the selvage bag. I can’t wait to make one. . A friend made a similar one that had 3 zipper separators inside. It was more for sewing notions and it was maybe 10″ long by 4 inches hi. It had sewing tape measures. Any chance that you could teach that one also?

I’m a total bag lady . . . but I have to ask, do you really use Frixion clickers for sewing?? My kids and I love them for school, but I am in awe that you are using them for sewing! Do tell!! 🙂

    1. Sara Lawson says:

I do use Frixion to mark fabric on an area of the fabric that won’t be seen in the finished bag (back of the fabric, etc.). For marking on another area, I prefer to use a Clover Chaco in white.

  68. Jan B. says:

A thought about scraps – You paid the same amount for the scraps that you paid for the rest of the fabric. So perhaps that is an incentive to save and use them. (Not an original idea, but I don’t remember where it originated. I will be a bag lady soon! And we do not have pets because we travel often.

  75. Shirley Eagle says:

For quite a few years I’ve been called a bag lady. Why? Because I crocheted and knit bags from unusual materials. Then I started quilting them out of plastic grocery bags. If I had the time to do all I think of, I could make a mint even selling them at the dollar or two people would be willing to pay. (cheapskates!) Never have saved selvages. Too much other fabric. Allergies instead of pets. I don’t do social media, so haven’t seen you there.
