Heather from Crimson Tate has a brand new fabric line out with Windham Fabrics called Paper Obsessed, and I couldn’t be more excited about this one! The fabrics are all of a gender-neutral coloring and THAT LOOSELEAF PAPER! Gah! So great for so many things like fussycutting hexagons! I wanted to share a project that I made with Paper Obsessed, show you a few other cool things, and then we have a giveaway! (all photographs courtesy of Eric Lubrick)
I used my Creative Maker Supply Case sewing pattern, to make this very appropriate writer’s case. Paper airplanes and envelops were used in addition to the much-loved looseleaf paper. I used blue mesh fabric and white elastic to blend in with the fabrics, along with a great zipper in Blastoff Blue color. The Creative Maker project comes together in approximately 3 hours and makes a great gift for any age.
As this case is available in 3 different sizes, people have been customizing it for a lot of different things, from Lego to iPads!
I’m sharing a few of my favorite photos from the Paper Obsessed look book to get your creative juices flowing!
Air Traffic Control is a beginner-friendly paper-piecing quilt pattern for a great crib or twin-sized quilt. The looseleaf print is the obvious choice for this one! I love paper-piecing but sometimes get stressed out by extremely complex designs with a lot of pieces to align at the end. This looks like an easy yet satisfying project!
My other favorite project from the look book is this Letters from Home quilt pattern. The genius thing about this pattern (besides being the perfect use for the fabric) is that a bonus template is included with the instructions to make the envelopes into actual pocket openings. This would be great for a wedding, anniversary, or other event, where people can leave little notes inside the envelopes. Or another idea that I had would be for each person to sign (with a fabric marker), the colored flap of the envelope. That way you have a record of everyone that was there to share your special day!
Would you like to win a fat quarter bundle of Paper Obsessed?? Just leave a comment below! I’ll choose a winner at end of day Wednesday, July 27th!

This fabric is great and makes me think of my teacher friends. We did the audio book of the first “Mist Born” book on a trip this year. It was alright, but i do always wonder about the world when men write annoying, troubled, teen aged female protagonist. Mostly because they seem pretty one dimensional. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Beautiful!! Thank you!!
The books I have been reading this summer are the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. If you love chemistry, science, or a good mystery, you are going to love these books. It’s like Nancy Drew on steroids. Eleven year old Flavia de Luce rides around on her mother’s bicycle, which she names Gladys. During her adventures she uses her super sleuthing to gather clues and discovering important facts. The first book, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, got me hooked. I’m currently on book #5-Speaking Among the Bones. It’s a refreshing view point from an eleven year-old narrator. She has a thing for poison chemical formulas. She also has two sister who antagonize her on a daily basis about her mother, being adopted, and various other things, to get her steamed up.
I can hardly wait to get my hands on some fabric from the Paper Obsessed line. From the day I heard about it through an email from Heather. I quickly addressed a letter for her to take to market. It seem like the days moved extremely slow knowing that I wanted some Paper Obsessed. Now it’s finally here and I have lots of plans for this fabric. The first project would be a cute bag for my daughter for school. Next, a dress for my niece for school and matching bag (of course)
The favorite thing I’ve read this summer is Silence of the Llamas. I love a punny crafty mystery.
I read This American Wife – she is the wife of the soldier who was killed in thebsyltatesnafternshe spent several duties overseas. His book was called This American Life I think then after he was killed by a soldier believed to have PTSD she wrote her story – it was good!!
A good summer romance by Eloisa James (amazing lady!!!!!) “When Beauty Tamed the Beast.”
Thank you for the chance
I absolutely love this fabric line! I also love your patterns. Thanks

For a novel it’s been interesting to read: Glitter and Glue, Loving Frank, The Return, Borkmann’s Point, Miss Julia Inherits a Mess! All so different can’t pick a favorite.
Love the Letters from Home quilt. It would make a great signature quilt. Thanks for the chance to win
