I am so excited to announce the 3rd year of Purse Palooza! Since I design bag patterns, running Purse Palooza every year is kind of my passion. I know you’ve been looking forward to this, too!
1. Every weekday from October 2nd – October 29th, I have 2 amazing guest bloggers scheduled to share with you a purse sewing pattern review. None of the purses reviewed last year are being reviewed again, so these will be fresh sewing pattern reviews! The review will contain detailed information about what they thought about the sewing pattern, modifications they made, what kind of interfacing they used, and more! Get inspired!
2. Even more exciting…THERE WILL BE A GIVEAWAY EVERY WEEKDAY DURING THE EVENT! That’s right, 20 GIVEAWAYS! This year, I have some help with the giveaways – Cyndi of The Nosy Pepper will be putting together the giveaway posts, so check back here during the weekdays in October!
3. At the end of the event, you will get a chance to show me your purse in order to win some amazing prizes! Of course, international entries are welcome too!
Schedule
The following is the schedule of the bag pattern reviews. I will update each bag link as the post goes live, so check back here to see as the bag reviews come in!
Oct 2 – Allegory @ 1000 Needles (Noodlehead Road Trip Case)
Scott @ Kept in Stitches – (McCall’s M5824)
Oct 3 – Cyndi @ The Nosy Pepper (Swoon Betty Bowler)
Maria (Michelle Patterns Pocket Clutch)
Oct 6 – Chloe @ Deadly Craft (Scallop of the Sea Clutch)
Jessy @ Auntie Matter (Dog Under My Desk Date Night Bag)
Contest Rules
1. Check out all the purse pattern reviews throughout the month and get inspired to sew up a purse of your own!
2. Link up your completed purse right at the bottom of this post BETWEEN OCTOBER 2nd AND NOVEMBER 14th. Your purse must be created and photographed between those dates; purses made prior to October 2, 2014 will be disqualified. The purse may be of your own design, or made from a sewing pattern. You can link from Flickr, your blog post, Instagram, or wherever else you host your photos.
3. There is no limit to how many purses you may enter, as long as they were made between October 2nd and November 14th. Only one link-up per purse please.
*Note: Besides bags and purses, for this event I will also accept clutches, backpacks, wallets, etc.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to comment on this post and I will get back to you!

Yey! I’m looking forward to sewing many bags. This is great news!!!
YOu can never have too many bags! Do the purse entries have to be one of the designs reviewed during the month or can it be any design?
I love learning about new bags! In the rules you mention that bags made before September 30, 2013 will be disqualified. Did you mean 2014?
great! I haven’t made any in long time 🙂
My very favorite time of year! I LOVE this event Sara! Just finished up the city Slicker by ChrisW and Starting on the Rockstar tonight.
Sara, I’m creating some felted sweater bags for a festival in town. Is that ok to submit or would you prefer a more constructed bag? I’ve gotta say….the sweater bags are awful cute!
I loved my first Purse Palooza and looking forward to this one! I need to make some bags!
Im so excited to see all the bags and hope i can make one to enter too!
I am so happy you are doing this again as last year I read about it too late. I just started sewing like crazy again – it’s my therapy – and have been hopping around different blogs and FB posts looking at the wonderful inspiration available. I hope to enter at least one of my creations – maybe on the 13th because it’s my birthday that day. We’ll see!
Looking forward to all the new bag reviews! Thank you for this wonderful event
This might be the kick in the pants I need to finish my sew liberated carpet bag! Linked up: http://swoodsonsays.com/sew-a-long-calendar/
I’ve been waiting for Purse Palooza! Now that it’s here, I have a feeling I’ll be entering more than once! http://madeonmainvt.blogspot.com/
I have plans to make a kindle cover/case/stand type “thing”. I was wondering if it would be ok to enter it. It is based on this pattern, but with several changes: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/other/prop-up-tablet-case/101800
Sara, I didn’t know how to use the Linky thing and then realized I should not have linked to your page but should havge uploaded to Flickr and then linked. Are you able to delete my first purse pic that was linked to you by mistake? it’s the purse with light sweet pea fabric on top and olive-ish green on the bottom. Thank you. =)
Thanks for such an awesome bag palooza! Love your newest bag pattern and can hardly wait to sew a few up.
Thanks for all the reviews and an opportunity to submit pictures of our inspirations. I love to add my own embellishments. On the Bonnie bag I used fabric from my dads jeans and silk tie with some home dec fabric. Added an embroidery and a chain handle. Making memory projects is one thing I enjoy
I did a horrible job of cropping! 😮 Sorry! I love all the bags!
Thank you so much for hosting! This is always such a fun event!
Woops – my picture came up sideways. SORRY! Please rotate if possible and thank you for doing this fun event! It made me not procrastinate this project I wanted to make. 🙂
