I had so much fun making my Staple Dress last week that I decided to make two more (you can read my full review of the Staple Dress pattern over here).
This time, I bought 2 pieces of voile from Bari J.‘s new line called Emmy Grace. The inspiration for the line was Bari’s two teenage daughters. It reflects child-like wonder and beautiful, soft colors. The Art Gallery voiles are pretty amazing to sew with, and there are more and more coming out every month. You can see the current and upcoming voiles here.
Since I already wrote a full review of the pattern, I won’t elaborate here, but I made these new Staple Dresses exactly the same as I did for my first one. They went together much faster since I was making two at the same time. I’m wearing the blue one today, and feeling very cool (well, at least, as cool as is possible in hot Chicago weather) in my light-as-air dress.
My handmade wardrobe is growing. 🙂 What summer clothing pattern are you itching to make?
Sara, I love both Dresses! What a gret fabric/Pattern Combination! Best Barbara
These are both so pretty! I like how you made the shirring higher on this pattern.
So pretty! Love the fabrics!
You were probably born to wear dresses! All of them just suits you so well 🙂
I was pretty sure I loved Emmy Grace, but seeing some prints made up as dresses has me convinced for sure! Unfortunately I have to clothe my boys and hubby first!
Cute, cute ,cute! The dresses look so cool and comfortable. I myself will be working on a tent for summer. 😉
I swear you’re the best dressed woman in Chicago!
