Big-City Bags: Week 2 Recap

My book, ‘Big-City Bags’, came out last Tuesday! I’m so excited!! You can order your copy on Amazon (it looks like Amazon sold out of the initial stock, but they will be getting more this week!) or if you’d like an autographed copy, you can order that from my pattern shop (free U.S. shipping). Additionally, get it at your local quilt shop (and there is a $10 mail-in rebate for purchases at brick-and-mortar quilt shops!), as many quilt shops stock Martingale books like mine!

I organized a blog hop to help get the word out about the book, and I wanted to show you what different blogs and my pattern testers had to say about it! This is my recap from week 2 of the blog hops!

Sew Can She  – Caroline from Sew Can She reviewed the book, and she made the Sound Check Bag in time to take it to Quilt Market! I loved seeing her in person at the event, and her bag is truly gorgeous!!

Casa Crafty  – Kelley pattern-tested the Oh Spit! Diaper Bag, which is a pattern that also comes with instructions for a changing pad. She made her bag using Echino laminate, and it came out just great! There’s plenty of storage space for all of the essentials that a new mother needs!

Mommy’s Naptime  – Emily tested the Meringue Clutch for me, and her bag actually appeared in the book’s pages! Emily is an Anna Maria Horner fanatic, and I thought it was only fitting that she made her clutch out of this fabric.

Craftsy – There’s a great interview with me on the Craftsy blog…questions about my book and my design process! Go check it out!

By Rebekah -Rebekah made this lovely version of the Miss Independent Bag for the book. This was the most advanced pattern in the book, and Rebekah pulled it off just right!
Pat Sloan – Pat is pretty much an icon in the quilting industry in my eyes. She’s written a lovely review of my book, and she spoke at an event earlier this year at my local quilt shop and was kind enough to take a photo of some of my bags displayed at the shop. Pat is awesome!!
Gen Q Magazine – All of the folks from Gen Q threw me up a *ton* of support at Quilt Market. They came to one of my Schoolhouse talks and gave away some swag in the form of their awesome magazine, and they also spoke at another event I was at for the Badass Quilters Society. I love them, and I love what they stand for.
A Thousand Needles – Allegory pattern-tested the Piccadilly Circus Bag, and here is her version as it actually appears in my book! Allegory is a super bag-making wiz, and teaches my bag patterns at 4 shops in the Atlanta area!
Fat Quarter Shop – Check out this wonderful review of my new book on the Jolly Jabber blog! My book is also available at Fat Quarter Shop for purchase!!
Thank you to everyone that participated in this blog hop! I hope you liked what you saw…and if you did, pick up my book right now!

I’ll have to look up Allegory since I live in Atlanta. Contacted Amazon today, my book is on back order even though I pre-ordered. I guess that’s a good thing since it means it’s selling well. Congrats!
