Terri from  Sew Fantastic is an amazing quilter, and she also makes handmade items for sale, including crayon wallets, pouches, and other amazing things! They are works of art and her eye for fabric is out of this world!

Hello friends! My name is Terri. I blog over at Sew-Fantastic and I am thrilled to be here sharing the inset zipper clutch from Michelle Patterns. Thank you Sara for inviting me to be among so many wonderful bloggers and sewists.

I have actually made this before using different methods of interfacing inside. I am very excited about this one in particular because it’s by far my favorite.

This pattern is so easy to follow, has great photos, and clear instructions. You can easily get caught up in just the fabric combos that are possible with this pattern. You can keep it simple like I did, or even shoot for some patchwork. Either way it will look amazing!

You can easily put this pouch together with a few fat quarters or even scraps. The pattern comes in two sizes. The small pouch size (seen in photo’s) and a larger clutch size. You could add a wristlet strap and use it on the go.

Some things that I changed in the pattern::
I played around with different interfacings and really loved the shape flex (pellon SF101). I also used a fusible fleece attached to the lining which gave it some structure (pellon 987)
You can usually find this easily at any Joann’s craft store.
My zippers were purchased at Zip It on etsy.

I would call this a beginner pattern, mostly because of the awesome instructions. However you do need basic sewing skills and knowledge to get through it.

Supplies needed to complete::
sewing machine
Scissors
Interfacing
quilting weight fabric (scraps or FQ’s)
thread
Polyester zipper

This little pouch would be an amazing gift.

Thank you again to everyone following the purse palooza posts!

After making this bag I realized that this pattern has been retired from her shop, but may still be available on her blog or by contacting her here.
