Happy New Year everyone!! I finished my first project of 2014 by making sure it was something cuddly and warm. When I’m working at my computer, I’ve been wrapping my legs in a quilt to keep warm, but it’s not so good trying to work when you have a 90″ quilt bundled around you. So I made a smaller quilt and backed it with minky. I think this will do the trick.
Due to the out-of-the-ballpark success and fun of Purse Palooza 2012 last year, I have put together a fun event to get you sewing a purse for 2013! Here’s how it works:
1. Every weekday from September 30th – October 25th, I have 2 amazing guest bloggers scheduled to share with you a purse sewing pattern review. None of the purses reviewed last year are being reviewed again, so these will be fresh sewing pattern reviews! The review will contain detailed information about what they thought about the sewing pattern, modifications they made, what kind of interfacing they used, and more! Get inspired!
2. Even more exciting…THERE WILL BE A GIVEAWAY EVERY WEEKDAY DURING THE EVENT! That’s right, 20 GIVEAWAYS! This year, I have some help with the giveaways – Tiffany of This Crafty Fox will be putting together the giveaway posts, so check back here during the weekdays in October!
3. At the end of the event, you will get a chance to show me your purse in order to win some amazing prizes! Of course, international entries are welcome too!

This guest post is from the fabulous Jessica from A Little Gray. Jessica has some great tutorials on her blog, my favorite of which is a recent one for a Chevron Circle Skirt that I saw on Pinterest before I even knew it was hers! Really creative, and go check it out!
Hey, I’m Jessica from A Little Gray and I’m pumped to be in the Palooza today! I decided to try out a Pat Bravo pattern for the first time- The Verona Bag. The shape, size, and unique curved piping detail are what first attracted me to this pattern (I’m a sucker for piping on anything), but now I’m just crazy about Pat’s patterns. It is so clearly written and beautifully presented, everything you want in a go-to bag pattern.
Hello everyone!! I am so excited that today is the kick-off of Purse Palooza 2012! Please visit the link for contest rules and prizes! Today through July 11th, you may begin linking up your completed purses in the Flickr Group to be counted as entries!
Art Gallery had a rainbow of a booth at Quilt Market. You just had to stop and stare at it. The fabric squares were all padded and assembled on the wall at the top of the booth. The colors began with red, orange, and yellow, and wrapped around to the other side of the booth with the green, blue, and purple. Amazing!
