Learning from innovative designers and making lifelong friends in an intimate retreat setting is what Sew Sweetness Retreats is all about!
Our sewing retreat weekends feature:
- sewing for 23 guests, allowing you to spend time with everyone that is attending and make new friends
- a convenient location at the beautiful Aloft Hotel, just 10 minutes away from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport
- free shuttle service from O’Hare to the hotel for out-of-town guests
- check-in on Thursday night, with a welcome mixer for our guests
- bring your own sewing machine! Sewing machines are available to rent for the weekend. These are my personal Juki sewing machines that I use myself. Rental fee is $50 and 5 machines are available to rent on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- workshop from 9am-4pm on Friday, free sewing time until midnight
- workshop from 9am-4pm on Saturday, free sewing time til midnight
- sewing room open on Sunday until 12 noon
- lunch on Friday and Saturday is also included with the price of your ticket
- our hotel is in a beautiful area with lots of food and entertainment right outside the front doors – a great chance to mingle with your new sewing buddies over dinner

Sew Sweetness Retreats will be held at the Aloft Chicago O’Hare Hotel. The address there is 9700 Balmoral Ave. in Rosemont, Illinois.
You’ll fly into Chicago O’Hare International Airport, which is conveniently only about 2 miles from the hotel. The Aloft Chicago O’Hare Hotel runs a free shuttle service to and from the airport with pickups every 30 minutes.
Check-in and registration for the event will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday and will be followed by a kickoff mixer in the lobby bar at 7 p.m. The sewing room will need to be cleared out by Sunday at 12 noon.
A lunch will be provided on Friday and Saturday (menu options will be sent out prior to the event – gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary requests will be accommodated). Attendees will be on their own for breakfast and dinner. There will be one drink ticket per person at the kickoff mixer on Thursday night.
Thursday: Kickoff Mixer at 7 p.m.
Friday & Saturday: Classes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees may use the sewing room for free sewing until midnight.
Sunday: Use of the sewing room for free sewing until 12 noon.
Please bring your sewing machine.
5 sewing machines are available to rent for the weekend. These are my own personal Juki sewing machines (I have both the Juki TL-2010Q and the Juki QVP2200 Mini, which are both essentially the same machine). Rental fee is $50 and rental machines are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
First off, we’re sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, Sew Sweetness Retreat tickets are not refundable but they are transferrable! If you can’t make it, you are welcome to sell your spot to someone else who would like to attend. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a refund without the spot being transferred to a new attendee. If you choose to sell your ticket, please email [email protected] to transfer your ticket to someone else’s name.
