Paper-pieced Chroma Batik Bags

Sew Sweetness Aeroplane Bag sewing pattern

I’m super-stoked to show you these Chroma bags samples that I made back in January, using Alison Glass‘s upcoming fabric line ‘Chroma’. These fabrics are modern batiks. I am a major rainbow girl, and these fabrics definitely hit the spot. You can see more photos of the ‘Chroma’ fabric line on Alison’s catalogs page (make sure you flip through the catalog)! If you like these fabrics, make sure to let your favorite fabric shop know that you’d love to see them in the shop – they arrive in June 2017.

I used my Aeroplane Bag sewing pattern as well as the Kismet Trinket Box sewing pattern for the samples. The straps and bottom of the bag were made using Fawn natural cork fabric from my shop. A little cork goes a long way!

For the Aeroplane Bag that I made, I foundation paper-pieced the top of the bag; the inspiration for the paper-piecing was Alison Glass’s Tesselation quilt pattern (I made the full-sized version of the quilt a few years ago).

Hope you like these bags – looking at these photos makes me smile because they are so sunny and bright!
