How does Stitch Fix work?
Stitch Fix is a subscription service in which you choose the delivery (once a month, every other month, etc.). In each box, Stitch Fix will send you 5 items based on an online profile that you fill out with details like your shoe size, waist measurement, and things you like and don’t like to wear. A personal stylist selects the items just for you and sends a personalized note, along with some photos to help you style the items in your box with things from your closet. Try on everything in the box and send back what you don’t like. There is a $20 styling fee, but that is refunded as long as you keep at least 1 item. The items range in price from around $38-$98. If you keep all 5 items in the box, you receive an additional 25% off. Shipping to you and return shipping on items that you don’t keep, is free. The Stitch Fix service is not for the bargain shopper, however, the service *is* amazing for those who don’t like to shop/don’t know what type of clothing to choose/want to be more adventurous or update their style.

My stylist is Karli and she sent a great note for me this time. I had requested a fall jacket or bright colored skinny jeans, which Karli wasn’t able to find for me this time, but she found some other things that I absolutely LOVE.

Liverpool Kolten Cropped Denim Jacket – KEPT

I don’t have a denim jacket, but I always secretly wanted one. I think what kept me from getting one was the vision of the stiff denim hanging on my body with little drape. Well, this Liverpool denim jacket is AH-MAZING. The denim is a dark wash and very stretchy. It also has a bit of weight to it, so I feel that it hangs on my body nicely. It’s the perfect length and I adore it, and I’m excited to wear it since it matches with pretty much anything. My only other non-winter jacket is a faux leather bomber from Target, so I’m glad to add another option to my closet.

Renee C Addae Knit Dress – KEPT

This is my favorite item from the box. I just love the black and white geometric print, and because it’s a medium-weight knit, it’s really comfy to wear. I used a black belt that I already had. I can see myself pairing it over leggings or with booties, and it would also look great with a bright scarf. I’m very happy to have this casual dress in my closet!

Pixley Francisco Mixed Material Top – KEPT

I’m going to be honest – I don’t care for this top at all. I don’t like the print, the armholes are too big, and I don’t like the back cut-out. The main fabric feels a bit chintzy. But I kept this top because returning the top would cost me more than keeping the entire box (with the 25% discount). I’ve decided to just leave the tags on this one and try to resell it.

Laila Jayde Quinne Hoodie Knit Top – KEPT

Totally in love with this hoodie. I’ve been looking for a form fitting, stretchy hoodie for a long time with no success. This is the most luxuriously-soft fabric – it’s smooth on the outside and the part that touches the skin feels like a small looped terry and it’s just so soft. It has piping on the sides as well, for some added visual interest. I’m so happy with the quality of the hoodie and the color is just great, I don’t own anything in my closet of this color and apparently it’s one of the on-trend colors this fall.

Just Black Cordelia Skinny Jean – KEPT

Skinny jeans! I love skinny jeans! I don’t own any black jeans, and these fit like a GLOVE! The fabric is so soft and has a bit of stretch to it, although it feels more substantial than my other jeans (which is a good thing!). In the photo, I paired the jeans with a sleeveless black and white striped top from Express Outlet from my closet. These are definitely going into heavy rotation.

With the exception of the blue leopard print top, I utterly loved everything in my Stitch Fix box this month. I felt like I hit the jackpot again!

My Tips for Getting a Great Box
1. Keep a Pinterest board and pin style options that you love. The web address of this Pinterest board can be added to your Stitch Fix profile and will be referenced by your stylist.
2. Leave detailed notes during your Stitch Fix checkout about what you did or did not like about the items in your box, and why. This will help your personal stylist in the future.
3. Make sure you try everything on and keep an open mind. Upon pulling the clothing out of the box, there are always things that upon first glance, I do not like. But they end up looking fantastic once I put them on.
