Patterns in the Works

case5

Do you use Instagram (it’s okay if you don’t)? You can find me right here on Instagram (my username is sewsweetness); even if you don’t use Instagram, you can still see a listing of all of the photos that I’ve been posting lately.

I use Instagram as a quick snapshot of the projects that I’ve been working on lately. So while Instagram and my blog both serve different purposes (I’ll never be able to give you a full pattern review on Instagram, lol!), I just wanted to pop into the blog and show you some of the things that I’ve been posting to Instagram lately, because you will see these projects on the blog very soon!

These first images are from a new pattern that will be coming out next month called the Creative Maker Supply Case. This pattern comes in three different sizes, and you can make it to fit anything your heart desires. Some of the pattern testers have made theirs for crochet hooks, crayons, etc. I made this version in Tula Pink ‘Elizabeth’ fabrics.

And here’s a look at all 3 of the sizes…I’ll be shooting these for the pattern cover, and these are made in Alison Glass ‘Handcrafted 2’ fabrics.

I’ll also be releasing a new pattern this week called the Promise Ring Backpack. It’s a smaller backpack-slash-purse that I came up with. Of course it’s great for kids as well, but I used mine last week when I went on a fieldtrip with my son to the zoo…both of our lunches and all of my essentials fit in this bag and it was really nice to be able to walk around hands-free.

Here’s another sneak peak of the bag, made by I’ve Got a Notion.

Besides the supply case and the backpack, I also have three more patterns I’ve written (which usually doesn’t happen but I was in the pattern-writing mood) which I still have to sew up. One of them is showing a great way in how to utilize these fabrics grosgrain ribbons by Renaissance Ribbons (these were designed by Tula Pink). My kids are out of school this week, and so I think I will be thankful that I pre-wrote several patterns, since I think we’ll be doing fun stuff when they’re home and I’ll be really tired at the end of the day, ha!

Anyway, hope to see you over on Instagram, and hope you have a great week!

I love, love, LOVE that Promise Ring backpack and I can’t wait to see the pattern for the supply case!

Beautiful designs!! You are full of great new ideas! I am especially excited about the supply case. My college-bound daughter would LOVE that.

*gasp* I’m excited for your supply case pattern because I think I can adapt it to make a perfect makeup case! I’m not a fan of rooting around my zipper bags and I’ve thought about making a “makeup roll,” but a zippered folder that can lie flat and have elastics/small pockets sounds like a better idea.
