Today’s post is from Caroline of Sew Caroline.

Hello, Sew Sweetness readers! Caroline here from Sew Caroline. I am thrilled to be sharing a recent make with you all. I sewed the Flatter me Frock by Sew to Grow a (newish) pattern company based in Australia. Lindsey designed this beautiful dress to be made from a woven fabric, but today I’ve made it out of a knit.

The pattern was simple to put together and it features an elastic waist with a faux wrap skirt. I love that it really does flatter me.. so much in fact, that it basically hides my 18 week baby bump! I made a couple of changes to the pattern: 1. I raised the waist by about 1″ and 2. I added a little more “poof” to the sleeves. Other than that, I sewed the same size I would in a woven (to leave room for my growing belly) and followed the instructions pretty much exactly.

The fabric I used for this is an Art Gallery knit from Jeni Baker’s Geometric Bliss collection. I think it pairs perfectly with this simple pattern!
