Today’s Dress Up Party giveaway is from Kay Whitt of Serendipity Studio! Kay is a veteran seamstress and author of Sew Serendipity. Serendipity is a design studio, providing unique appliqué, sewing, needlecraft, and punchneedle patterns. Their first design was released in 2001 and they continually strive for inspiring new designs that make for fun and enjoyable projects.
Serendipity just released her Spring 2015 collection!
The “urban cowgirl” Aspen Tunic, featuring a large front and back yoke with a rounded neckline and a slightly raised elasticized waist for a comfortable, customizable fit.
The summery, classic A-line Ava Dress:
(Can you tell she’s from Texas? Gorgeous).
What really struck me about Kay’s new collection at Quilt Market was her embroidery and applique patterns sewn onto her designs!
Kay’s fourth new pattern from her Spring 2015 Line is Cottage Roses, an embroidery and applique pack.
Very sweet! Kay’s designs are classic, versatile, and so easy to make your own.
One lucky Dress Up Party Reader will receive all four of Kay’s new Spring 2015 patterns.
Best of luck!
Samantha from Pattern Crush
Love her designs…the applique added to the dresses is beautiful….
I love the applique and embroidery detailing.
I love her two new dress patterns. They already on my list to buy. It would be wonderful to win them!
Thanks!
Own both her books. Love them both! Her pattern styles are so feminine and lovely. Love the new dresses.
Great new patterns! I prefer floor length for work and knee length for fun.
I am so inspired by these dresses!!! Having the patterns would be GREAT!!!! Thank you for having this giveaway!
I prefer knee length – looks the best on me!
I like knee length I’m short so long skirts make me look like I fell in a hole
I love midi length – call me an old fuddy duddy, but I don’t think the world needs to see my kneecaps!
Either above the knee, or ankle-length. I love the new style of skirts that accommodate both, short in from and long in back! 🙂
Years ago I wore long skirts to work. While I still like long skirts, I think knee length (with shorts) will be more pratical this summer. I chase after my little one all day and wouldn’t want to flash anyone (hence the shorts idea) or trip (hence the knee length)! Thanks for the giveaway. I love Kay Whitt’s designs.
I like knee length, I am too short to wear them longer!
I like knee length since I’m short.
I like knee length best.
I love Kay’s patterns, my preference is knee length.
Usually I prefer knee length- but for the birds in flight I would sew a looong dress:-))
I love, love, love her patterns!! Any length!
Cute patterns! I prefer knee length. Thank you for sponsoring the giveaways this month. There are so many great designers that I may never have been exposed to without seeing them here.
Always knee length! And knee length for me is just above the knee not below… that makes a big difference in proportions
I’m a knee length kids of gal! Though I do love a good long dress, just not my thing to sew!
Great patterns, and like many others I agree, knee length.
I absolutely love her designs. I was smitten with that first ensemble and the goodness just continued down the line. Makes me want to stock up on some pretty chambray fabrics!
I’m short, so knee-length or above works best for me. I do love maxis, though!
Just above the knees
I’m a shortie so I like knee length best.
Right above the knee.
Those birds are amazing! Floor length is my preference, but since I spend so much time carrying little people up and down stairs I’m doing a lot of just above the knee lately.
I prefer at or just above the knee.
I’m tall, so I prefer below the knee or ankle length. Skirts above the knee don’t look too great on me.
I prefer slightly above the knee since I’m short. :}
Knee length or sometimes a bit shorter if i’m wearing it with tights x
Pretty long, but not too long (about mid-calf) works best for me.
I don’t remember the last time I went longer or shorter than knee length. Apparently I’ve become very predictable. LOL
knee length or a bit above the knee
I always to MAXI version because I can! RTW clothes never come long enough for my 6′ frame!!
I prefer just above the knee but would love to try a maxi length as well. I love the Aline Dress!
I love serendipity studio patterns, my monique dress is possibly the best fitting dress I’ve ever made straight out of the packet. knee length is so versatile and easy to wear although a bit shorter for something to wear over leggings is now more practical for running around after a little one while still feeling pretty
I feel like now that I am in my 30s it is appropriate to wear knee length or close to it. That way I can still show off some leg, but in a classy way.
I generally end up with knee length dresses and skirts.
I’m a knee length kind of girl! 🙂
My favorite length is just above my knees.
Probably knee length!
I vary. Knee length is good.
These patterns are really cute. Thanks for introducing them to me! From the knee down works best fr me.
I prefer knee length. Gotta make one of these! Thank you.
I prefer knee length or there abouts.
1″ above the knee.
Knee length is my favorite so far 🙂
I prefer long skirts…ranging from 36″ from waist to almost floor length.
Mostly I prefer knee length. It’s comfortable and looks good on me. The Aspen Tunic looks refreshingly perfect!
I prefer a skirt length of mid-calf or slightly longer, depending on the design. I don’t usually wear straight skirts as I sometimes need to tuck up my skirt to ride a bicycle or walk in long grass.
MPaula
Knee length or mid calf.
I prefer dress length that ends just at top of my knee if it is casual wear or just under the kneecap if it is a suit.
I am short and I really love mid calf.
Knee length looks the best on me, so that’s what I stick to. Someday I’ll do a maxi dress, but I always cringe a little when I see how much fabric is required!
LOVE Sew Serendipity patterns!! 🙂
I like either just below, or just above the knee, depending on the style of the dress. 🙂
Love the patterns 🙂 I only have knee- length skirts and dresses, so might be time for something else!
I love just over the knee length for most dresses and skirts but it depends on the look of the dress!!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I love her patterns!
Mostly knee length, though I ordered fabric for a maxi-dress.
Just above knee length
i like below the knee ! fab giveaway and blog x
Right now I love a midi length. Thanks for the giveaway!
I usually prefer knee length, or just above. Great patterns! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
I love the Ava dress-love ankle length dresses in the summer-hides my lily white legs!
I couldn’t choose, I love everything from minis to maxis and anything in between!
Knee length is my go-to dress length. I think I’m too old to pull off a short dress and get too hot to think of a floor length or maxi dress.
I like to make both but I make more knee length than long.
Mini, knee and maxi!
Below the knee skirts
I prefer just under the knee
The length of dress I prefer is midway between knee and ankle.
knee length
I love these patterns! I especially like her applique and embroidery designs. My favorite skirt length is ankle. Hides a multitude of sins. lol
Knee lentgh works best for me…
I make most of my skirts and dresses just below the knee, but I do make some floor length as well.
Loooove floor length best, but for business just to knee is more accepted by most people
At or just below the knee. Then I can wear it with heels for work or flats on the weekends.
Knee length or mid-calf length.
I like my dresses to be just above my knee or maxi length. The maxi length needs to skim the floor, I hate it when long skirts don’t cover my ankles.
Maxi, I like to keep my legs warm, so I want it to reach the ground!
I like to mix it up with different lengths depending on what I’m doing that day. Above the knee with leggings underneath is ideal for my active day job, but maxis are great in the summer for lazy days (although I’m not sure we’re going to get a summer this year!) I love that chambray maxi Ava, by the way.
For dress I like long and skirts usually knee length
I prefer knee length. Many thanks!
I like it just a little below my knee – fun and flirty!
Knee length – mini looks awful on me
I like knee length.
