  4. Victoria Z says:

I have this great book of handbag patterns I use every once in a while to mix things up.

  5. Misty S. says:

I’m a new sewer, who’s a bit on the modern side, so currently the book I’m from is Modern Patchwork by Eliz. Hartman. I am also currently attempting to sew my own clothing, but don’t yet have a book for that.

  6. nique says:

Can’t say that I have a favorite. Thanks for the opportunity.

  7. Bonnie Larson says:

That’s too hard – I have tones – from quilting to basic sewing to sewing knits, lingerie, to a variety of handwork. I love them all depending on my “mood” of the moment. Great looking patterns. Thanks for sharing

  8. Jana says:

Depends on what kind of sewing book you mean. I love my Vogue Sewing Book from the 70s for the wealth of technique information. I love “Fitting and Pattern Alteration” (Liechty et al.) for the mind-boggling number of fitting adjustments and the clear illustrations. For inspiration, I really adore some Japanese sewing books, including the Drape Drape, Shape Shape and Pattern Magic series, “She Wears the Pants”, “Basic Black”, “Féminin Masculin” (French translation of a book by Yuko Takada) and the lovely book on men’s shirts by Ryuichiro Shimazaki.

  9. Catherine in MI says:

I really like Sew Serendipity bags.

The only one I have is Love at first stitch by tilly and the buttons and that is really nice

  12. Sarah Jane says:

I don’t have a current one. My last favourite was “Growing Up Sew Liberated”. I think it high time I find some new titles for my library since my little ones aren’t so little anymore.

  13. TracineCharest says:

  24. Oh dear, I have oodles of wonderful sewing books collected over my nearly 50 years of sewing. One that I have used a lot is Heirloom Sewing for women by Martha Pullen. Two others that I keep handy are Fabric Savvy by Sandra Betzina and Fabric Sewing Guide by Claire Schaeffer. I really like this designer’s patterns and hope I get picked to win. Thanks for the opportunity.

  25. Cindy says:

I don’t have any sewing books. I have a craft book that has some simple sewing patterns in it, but it wouldn’t rate as a true sewing book. Love these patterns! Thank you again for sponsoring the giveaways.

  26. Dana says:

Right now Handmade Beginning by AMH. But it varies!

  27. Mirte says:

I don’t really have a sewing book, I usually just look om blog, and magazines.

  28. Umma says:

Surprisingly I have never had the joy of reading a sewing book, at least not with understanding. I taught myself how to sew by thinking of sewing the lines and reading tutorials on forums – before I even purchased a machine. When I finally purchased a machine I did most of my sewing from memory of techniques, not actually following a patternn. The written directions in books confuse me, though I do like looking at the pictures.

  29. Susie Mazur says:

I love Tillys Love at first stitch but the sewtionary is a great reference book too!!

  30. Elizabeth says:

I love Sew Serendipity by Kay Whitt.

I love Stitch and Octrobre! thanks!

  32. I don’t have one yet.

I just got an Alabama Chanin book, and it’s so pretty! 🙂

  35. lucilledupuis says:

I have many, but anything by Claire Schaffer is close to hand at all times. I am loving this month. It has really exposed me to many pattern makers I didn’t know, and needed to! Thanks!

  36. Cecilia says:

I only have a couple seeing books and haven’t really read any of them. 😉 I mostly search the web for blogs when I need help. The two books that I have and have found useful when I’ve looked something up are Fabrics A to Z by Dana Willard, which has stopped me from making a few would-have-been-terrible fabric purchases and the Singer Complete Photo Guide to Sewing, which has lots of useful pictures.

  37. MaryAnn says:
