You may know today’s giveaway sponsor, Caroline Hulse, from her fabric collections with Art Gallery Fabrics (she’s another Limited Edition designer!) or from her inspirational sewing blog, Sew Caroline (http://www.sewcaroline.com). In addition to designing and blogging, she also designs casual wear patterns (http://www.shopsewcaroline. com) and she’s giving away copies of all five of her PDF patterns now available.
Putting the vast array of knits now available to use, the Out and About Dress is a body-skimming design with skirt and sleeve length options that let you make it suit your style. It’s a great pattern for both those just starting out with knits or those who are zipping right along with their sergers.
The Sugar Pop Top is a quick little top, perfect for all the light summer fabrics, including voile, lawn, and double gauze. A Peter Pan collar, two ultra-feminine sleeve options and a little hi-lo hem makes this a casual top with a bit of flair.
You’ll need a great skirt to go with your Sugar Pop Top and Caroline has the sweet Picnic Skirt pattern that goes great with it or your favorite tee. High-waisted with a subtle hi-lo hem, the skirt is a flattering wardrobe addition.
With summer coming right around the corner, now’s the time to whip up a quick Tank Dress that has all sorts of room for adding your own touch. Simply constructed without darts or closures, it’s an easy weekend project, even for beginning sewists.
Flexibility goes a long way in top patterns and the Downtown Tunic can go from relaxed weekend to office casual. Mixing wovens and knits gives you tons of options in addition to the two peplum choices.
Caroline has created some really cute patterns! Love the Out and About Dress! I would live in that all summer. I enjoy reading your blog, and am really enjoying being introduced to all these other talented sewers. Thank you so much for having the Dress Up Party month.
Summer! I’ve been wanting to try the Out and About Dress. So many options!

Definitely summertime! 🙂 I love the warm weather and skirts and dresses!
I start sewing more garments in the spring for sure, it continues into the summer but i think my favorite is the spring. I reallly get sewing then!

Summer, hands down! We don’t get enough of it where I live, but I’ve found that I always look forward to making and wearing my summer clothes more than any others. It’s ridiculous, I should make more clothes for the other seasons, but I can’t always convince myself to go for practical over fun.
