Today’s giveaway sponsor is Boutique Unique Designs. Boutique Unique’s patterns have been designed to encourage the maker to express themselves through creative choices during the process. They design patterns that avoid cookie cutter results and help people create an individually unique item. I love that they have great ideas on how to save on bag making with their patterns!

One lucky winner will receive 3 pdf patterns:

The Betty Bag, The Nicky Bag and The Ready Roll pattern

The Betty Bag

A shoulder bag with optional piping  to highlight its curves and optional front pocket.  It has an internal pocket and zip closure,  and allows the option of a contrast pocket or as in this case contrast straps. Finished off with a feature button this bag is current make it for yourself or as a gift for a friend.
The Nicky Bag

This is a pretty clutch bag which can be dressed up or dressed down. Perfect for making a clutch to go with a new outfit. There is optional piping and a zip closure. The bow gives it such a unique pop and would be a great way to display a favorite print.

The Ready Roll Bag

This adorable roll up organizer is an incredible make up bag. It has a special pocket that will hold a packet of face wipes whilst allowing you to unseal and reseal the packet. It also has two clear pockets with gussets that will expand to hold several small items and allow you to see what is in there. The whole thing rolls up and ties with a strap.Although this is  great make-up bag it has so many potential uses (first aid kid, to organize a diaper bag). The pattern is structured so that you can add or subtract pockets to suit your needs which makes it really useful.

  1. Currently using an Oreck that came with a vacuum bought some 10 years ago. Have used the iron daily for the past 7 years (after my Rowenta died). It is beginning to complain, so suspect I will need a new one before too long.

  2. Mokki says:

I use an iron I bought with gift vouchers someone gave me as a wedding gift. I don’t know what make it is, it works, that’s enough! 🙂

  3. KathyC says:

The patterns look nice. I would like to try this designer.

  4. Terry D says:

I use a Rowenta. I love that it gets really hot, but I’ve already had the steam water compartment leak once. Not thrilled.

  5. SonJa says:

I use a dry iron. I bought two of them at a thrift store for $5 each and they were worth every penny! Super hot and very very old but they work like a champ! Seems everyone is having trouble with all, these $100 irons and I’m not willing to,spend that kind of money on junk. I had a Rwenta but it spark d and blew a hole in the cord after just about a year. Junk. The brand name on one of the irons I got at the thrift store is “Universal”. I also have a “continental” dry iron I bought from The Vermont Country Store, but they too only last about a year and a half before they crap out, though they are only $30. Good hot iron, but not long lasting. I love a dry iron because of the flat surface and no holes. When I need “steam”, I just use a spray bottle of water. Seems the water in an ironic the thing that ruins all these high dollar irons.

  6. Ellee says:

My Rowenta has been my reliable ironing friend for over 30 years! More recently I got a Rowenta ironing board. They have both served me very well.

    1. SonJa says:

Oops, a 30 year old Rowenta! I bet that thing does perform like a champ! Back then, they made stuff to last….now, they make stuff to fail so you have to buy more! That’s awesome you have a good one.

  7. lesley says:

I am new to sewing/quilting and am still trying to teach myself so right now I just have a small handheld Dritz Petite Press Portable Mini Iron

  8. anzarquilter says:

Black and Decker. I have a fancy one and an old fashioned one(but it’s new.)

  9. Tina in NJ says:

I had to check. It’s a Sunbeam. I think I got it at Walmart. Maybe Target. It does the job.

  10. Lisa Marie says:

Reliable V50 Velocity Compact Vapor Generator Iron — it’s the orange one. It seemed extravagant when my son gave it to me as a gift, but it is a fantastic iron. When my quilting BFF (who also happens to love to iron) used it the first time she immediately ordered one for herself.

  11. Donna says:

I have an Oliso which I love but wish it got hotter and didn’t leak water so I just use without steam

  12. Alli says:

I have a vintage dry iron. I like not having to iron out bubbles in interfacing, and when I need steam, I just spritz! :>

  13. Kathy Booth says:

I have several irons and only one, the inexpensive Rival steam iron, is the one that gets hot enough to press cotton!

  14. Nicki says:

I have no idea what brand of iron I’m using! I just replaced my old Rival steam iron due to lots of spitting. I also have a Clover mini iron with interchangeable tips.

  15. Lori M. says:

Hello, I have a 40 year old Sunbeam for pressing and a very nice new big one my kids got me last year for Christmas,,,,I think they thought I needed one as I was still using my old trusty best friend…no Steam just my favorite Best Spray….

  16. linda says:

I use a steam iron and an old dry iron

  17. Holly says:

I use a Rowenta that I bought on a garage sale!

  18. Sheryl Jeffery says:

I use a regular old steam iron- nothing fancy. It works well both with steam and dry.

  19. Lisa E says:

Nothing fancy — a Black and Decker. It works for what I want it to do.

  20. sherry says:

HAVE A RELIABLE AND LOVE IT

  21. Denise Swanson says:

I’m still using the cheapy Sunbeam iron that I bought after I got married, almost 19 years ago! As for ironing, it works fine, but sometimes it takes playiing with the switch to make it detect that’s it’s been turned on!

  22. Julia says:

I don’t even know what I use! I think it’s a Shark. It was inexpensive and had a decent water reserve. It works great – no complaints here!

  23. buntyw says:

    Morphy Richards!

  24. car2ole says:

My iron is an old piece of crap! But at least it steams.

  25. Rita S. says:

I have a Reliable Digital Velocity V100 Iron and LOVE IT!! Very heavy so makes pressing so easy!!

Thanks for the chance to win.

  26. Lori Morton says:

I have a Rowenta now..was on sale & I had a 25% off my order coupon from Bath & Body! Made it bout $30.00! & I have used it soooo often..sometimes daily..lol…for almost 5 years.

    I love my Rowenta!

  29. barbara woods says:

    a cheap one from Walmart

  32. Vicky P says:

  37. Catrin says:

I use a Phillips – had it around five years and dropped it several times but it’s still going strong!

  38. Donna W says:

I use a Rowenta. I have an old Rowenta for use when fusing, starching, etc. and a new one for my piecing. Oh, and I use the new one for when I iron, which isn’t very often!

  39. Vanessa B says:

right now, Im using a Shark (from walmart) but I see they have an Olisio(sp) on Massdrop for a couple more days, I just might have to have it 😉

  40. Susan says:

    Black and Decker

  41. Kerry says:

    A Tefal non stick Aquaspeed

  42. Barbara P. says:

I’ve gone through many an iron and my new favorite is a Sunbeam. It is heavy with a teflon coated iron, so it slides nice. They are super cheap. My friend has an expensive iron I’ve used from time to time and I hate it! My Sunbeam rocks!

  43. Karen Thurn says:

Well, I never used to iron and then I started sewing quilts so I bought a Rowenta.

  44. What a great set of patterns! I could sure use that organizer with all the traveling I do! And I absolutely love that first bag. It reminds me of the bags you design – perfect in every way!

  45. I have a black and decker and a rowenta

  46. Simone S says:

I have a cheap cordless steam iron. Next on my list is to upgrade to a better cordless steam iron.

  47. Emma says:

    a really cheap one from K-mart 😛 I think its a Kambrook???

  48. Amanda Ashton says:

I use a Rowenta. It’s ok but not great.

  49. Lynne Tilley says:

I have a Shark. I would love to have a really NICE one someday. The Shark is pretty good, but that’s compared to my old Hamilton Beach that was just awful.

  50. Lisa McIsaac says:

I have a Tfal iron…it was on sale and it’s lightweight.

  51. Laura Downs says:

I use a Rowenta. Love it!

  52. Betsy N says:

I have a Black and Decker, old, dirty, ugly iron. It still functions, but I’m really hoping Santa might bring me a Rowenta this year!

  53. Jordan L says:

I had a really cheap one but it broke and now I’m borrowing one from a friend! Can’t buy one right now and I definitely can’t sew without one!!

  54. Linda Fleming says:

I had to check the make – it’s a Sunbeam.

  55. pjdominici says:

It’s not just the purse patterns, but also the fabric choices that make them standouts. Great blog hop!

  56. Judy Cinerari says:

I use a Kambrook steam iron which suits my quilting and everyday needs. Thanks for the giveaway.

  57. wendy says:

erm… it’s red. No idea what brand it is. It was cheap as I seem to go through several irons a year, no matter how expensive or cheap they are.

  58. lovemyboxers says:

Mine is a soon to be replaced one. Not even sure what kind it’s so warn down. Still turns on so that’s a plus..hope it does today

  59. Norma says:

I got a Rowenta 2 years ago and I love it. It has leaked but I think it was because I left some water on it overnight.

  60. Sharon Lichter says:

I use a Sunbeam iron. It has small holes in the faceplate which don’t get caught on small pieces.

  61. Heather Crook says:

    Black & Decker…nothing fancy

  62. Danette says:

It seems like a buy a new iron every year anymore. I have a Shark that leaks, so I started using a Black & Decker one that I had new in the box. They all end up leaking sooner or later. They tell you to empty the water out after each use, but that doesn’t seem good for me since I pretty much use it every day.

  63. Sherry VF says:

I use a Rowenta Precision. It’s okay. The plate gets gummy stuff on it and I use a special iron cleaner for that. I even have a cheap iron from WalMart that I use for interfacing and messy ironing to keep my Rowenta in good condition. svonfumetti at yahoo dot com

  64. Snow says:

Right now I use one I got at Target, a Shark. It’s…not great. The timer is off, so it turns itself off after 30 mins, even if I’m still using it and it leaks like crazy if it isn’t given at least 10 mins to warm up. I’m talking water POURING out of one of the bottom corners. Oh for the perfect iron at an affordable price!

  65. Sandra says:

I’m using an iron I bought from Target years ago. I’d love to upgrade but this won’t die!

  66. Indianna says:

Mine is just a normal steam iron!

  67. Cindy Sliker says:

I have been using an inexpensive sunbeam iron for years, because my rowenta iron started spitting everywhere. However I just ordered a pink Olisio iron, and I can’t wait!!!

  68. Carrie says:

I now use a Rowenta PROMASTER and love it. I had been using solid but relatively inexpensive irons until this one, and I’ll never go back. Faster and easier.

  69. Susie says:

I use a Rowenta Master. I liked it until the cord must’ve bent , and I have to use duct tape to keep it turned on!

  70. Jan c. says:

I have a Rowenta. Nice and heavy, but known for spitting. Thanks for the sweet giveaway.

  71. Jen B says:

Other than “a hot one” I have no idea, it’s just a normal iron.

  72. Kathy Luehrs says:

I have a sunbeam – I love it for its steam – but man is that steam hot

  73. Fiona Plug says:

Phillips – irons fine but always, always needs a clean as the interfacing gets rather tacky and black on surface

  74. Sue Kooiman says:

I use an ancient Hamilton Beach iron.

  75. sonja says:

Oliso Pro Smart, in a beautiful retroish maize color.

  76. Kara says:

I use an iron my husband had when we got married. I have no idea what brand it is. I’m looking at getting a new one.

  77. kathyh says:

I use a dry iron from Vermont Country store – $29. Tired of the steam ones leaking.
