Today’s guest post is from DeeAnn, who is an avid bag-maker! DeeAnn has pattern-tested many a bag for me, so she’s got an eye for a good bag. 😉
Hi everyone!  My name is DeeAnn, and I am so excited to have been asked by Sara to take part in this year’s Purse Palooza!  I have seen so many cute bags already, and can’t wait to see the rest!
I became one of Sara’s pattern testers earlier this year, and I have a confession for you:  I LOVEmaking bags of all kinds, however, due to some physical limitations, I rarely carrythem myself!  Having said that, I think I may have found a sweet little bag I can use often.
The pattern I am reviewing is the Corduroy Patchwork Bag byRebeka Lambert, from the book “best of stitch – Bags to Sew”.  Rebeka has 2 patterns in this book, which has a total of 21 patterns – everything from a checkbook cover to a weekend travel ensemble.
The supplies needed for this bag are pretty simple – check your stash – you may already have everything you need!
½ yard corduroy
3/8 yard cotton print for lining (contrast a)*
6 ½” x 8” cotton print (contrast b)
8 ½” x 8” cotton print (contrast c)
4 ½” x 4 ½” cotton print (contrast d)
3/8 yard fusible fleece
One 1-1/8” button
*I used three fat quarters for my contrast pieces.  I used one fat quarter for the lining (contrast a) and for contrast b.  I used another fat quarter for contrast d and to add some interior pockets.  The final fat quarter was used for contrast c.

As you see from the sizes above, I have plenty left over for another project.
Rebeka’s instructions are clear and concise, and you can easily put this bag together in just a few hours.  If there is any tricky bit to this bag, it might be piecing the front of the bag.  But, even that is easy enough to do.  Just take your time sewing those curved pieces together.  After piecing the front of the bag, Rebeka instructs you to top-stitch on either side of the seams.  I think I would wait to do the top-stitching until the fleece is attached, to give it more of a quilted look.
I added interior slip pockets this time around.  Next time, I think I will also add a small zippered pocket on the back exterior, to hold keys, change, etc.  What can I say – I love pockets!
This is a cute little bag that I think any confident beginner would feel comfortable putting together.  I think it would make a sweet gift for teachers, bridesmaids, and because of its size (6 ½” x 10 ½” x3”), even young girls!

Thank you, Sara, for inviting me to be part of Purse Palooza!
