New Sponsor and Coupon Code: The Needle Shop

I’m very pleased today to introduce you to my new sponsor, The Needle Shop! Not to sound like a weirdo, but I try my best to work with sponsors that I actually love what they do and love what they stock in their shops. See my sidebar? ‘Where I Shop for Fabric’? Not only are those my blog sponsors, but I actually spend my dough at each and every one of their shops. Which…now as I’m writing this, perhaps that’s not a good thing for my wallet. I have a feeling I have more going out than coming in, lol! 😉

Rolls and rolls of fabric galore…and a whole wall of books!

So, that brings me to The Needle Shop! I am pretty excited to say that this brick & mortar store/online shop is actually in my hometown of Chicago! So I can actually buy things in person (and, when I’m feeling lazy, on-line). 😉 I visited the shop for the first time a few weeks ago, and I almost tripped over myself when I saw the storefront. There were about 20 bolts of fabric stacked high in the window. Yummy.

I got to meet the owner, Rachel. She is really awesome! We talked a bit about The Needle Shop’s exclusive fabric designer, Jessica Jones. As you can see, I have purchased nearly every one of her ‘Outside Oslo’ fabrics (but you can see her full fabric works here, they are all available now!).

I actually used some Outside Oslo laminates in one of my book projects, but these I bought on-line nearly 2 years ago. This is my favorite project from my new book.

Besides selling awesome fabric, The Needle Shop also carries great indie sewing patterns, like these Zen Chic quilt patterns, my printed bag patterns, and these Sew Liberated clothing patterns. Me, I picked up these cool clothing patterns for myself by Victory Patterns. Aren’t they great?

And guess what?! The Needle Shop is extending a coupon code for 15% off your total order using coupon code SEWSWEET. The code is good on all purchases in the online shop, and is valid through Friday, August 30th. Happy shopping!!

  1. Just curious about your sponsors. Do you find them or do they find you? I see lots of blogs who have sponsors and wondered about how they get them and what the sponsor does for you? You must earn money when someone buys by clicking on a link from your blog, but what else do they do besides that? Do they give you products to try and blog about? Do you have to have a certain number of followers to get a sponsor? I’m curious because I am not sure if I would want a sponsor or not and if I would even qualify to be able to have one. Hope you don’t mind answering these questions.
