Emily – Here we are at the end of the 30’s and still going strong!
I’m having a good time sifting through scraps to use with bits and pieces of the new Acacia collection.
Block 37
I’m trying to be a bit more liberal (not so matchy-matchy) in my fabric choices as I did in block 37. The Coral from Prince Charming picks up the tiny coral in the Acacia prints in the center but still looks a bit off to me. If this block was going to stand alone I’d probably do it over but since it’s going to be with the others I think it will look just right.
Block 38
I didn’t get too original with my color choices in block 38. Instead of Parisville I used Acacia and a coordinating lavender solid. I did my best to line up the diagonal dots. I think this is my favorite for the week. :o)
Block 39
Block 39 was a struggle. It seems all my yellow scraps fall in the same value. I auditioned a few lighter oranges but they didn’t work. I even tried some greens. In the end I kept with the yellow. I am pleased with how it turned out, just wish there was a bit more contrast in the “box”.
I can’t wait to see your blocks!

Julie –

Hey everyone!! I’m excited to share blocks 37, 38 & 39 of the #tula100 quilt a long with you.
We are now in the triangles section of the book.
These are the fabrics I pulled for block #37. They are all from Tula’s Plume collection. This is the first time I used only one collection in a block and I love the result!
My Block 37 & Tula’s Block 37.
These are the fabrics I pulled for block #38. They are Acacia, & Nightshade. I love how well the two play together!
My Block 38 & Tula’s Block 38.
These are the fabrics I pulled for block #39. They are Plume, Flutterby & The Birds & the Bees.  I fussy cut the center just like Tula did in her block.
