Sewing Summit 2012

Some of you are already looking forward to Sewing Summit this year, and I am honored to be able to share with you today that I will be teaching a class there! When my friend, Kim, told me to fill out an application last November, I did it because she seemed so excited about it. I really felt I had a snowball’s chance in hell of being chosen.

Much to my surprise, someone likes my bags, because I will be teaching an Advanced Bags class! Woohoo!

Sneak peak of the new free bag sewing pattern I just finished up yesterday…it will debut next month as a guest post,
but I’ll give you a hint: it’s a round bag with a zippered panel!

Be sure to check out the Sewing Summit site to find out more information on registration (starting in April!), booking your flight and hotel, etc. I could not believe the caliber of teachers (again!). Sarai from Colette Patterns was also announced today (!!!). I’m sure it will be hard deciding which classes to take, there will be so many good ones!

Thank you for reading, and for sharing in my good news! I have a lot of fun things planned, but are there any particular things about bag construction you would like to know? Are there certain areas that you have trouble with when making a bag?

O buddy! I am so excited because I just found out I might be going to the sewing summit this year too … 80% chance hopefully to become 100% on Tuesday 😉

And you have no idea how many times I’ve been reading your blog and have thought “wow, I wish I could sew with her – she explains things so well and could totally help me with my bag skills” and now I really do get to!!

Question… to be up to par for class and not be struggling with the basics, any suggestions for what we should already know in order to get ready for your “advanced” bag class?
