Hexagon Dish Towels

Card made with Nesting Chairs fabric from Laurie Wisbrun

I have some hexagons to share with you today! A couple of weeks ago, I made these Hexagon dish towels for the bridal shower for my brother’s wedding. There was a set of green and blue dishtowels on the registry from Crate and Barrel ($12.95 for 4), but the edges were serged and I thought I could come up with something more interesting?

Using vintage linens, I made approximately 80 hexagons (1.5″). I used Pellon Wonder Under to fuse them in random orders on each dish towel. Then I topstitched around each hexagon. I was a little embarrassed about my gift at first, because it’s not a kitchen appliance or tableware, but hopefully it was well-received! It was my first completed hexagon project!
