I found out about this great online sewing forum recently called SeamedUP, and I wanted to share some information about it.
SeamedUP is like your online dream sewing room. There is a catalog of over 6,000 fabrics and over 3,000 patterns that you can add to your stash or library with a click; they are also adding books, notions, and machines to their library. You also have a “thread” of conversation that tells you what your friends are working on, talking about, or stashing.
In the Chat it UP forum you can see what other members are talking about or working on. What’s UP? is filled with industry news like new fabric lines or books, cute tutorials, upcoming quilt shows or events and, obviously, quilt alongs, swaps, blog hops and BOMs.
I spoke with Jenny, the What’s UP? coordinator, and she mentioned other features in the works for the near future. They will have a way for designers to sell their patterns (downloadable or click through) and for shops to link through them. When that happens, members will be able to click on a fabric or pattern or notion and see which shops carry it. Online classes and workshops are also a possibility.
If it sounds like something you might be interested in, you can register for free. I’ve been clicking through, and there are lots of ideas for quilts on there! Another thing to keep me tied to my computer. 😉

I just tried your link to SeamedUp and it did go to their site but the link to “create a new account” lead to “page not found”. Help would be appreciated. Thanks, Sara.

Hey LJ – sorry about the page not found… so many sign ups at one time… slowed the site down? Should be working just fine now:)
