I went through my box of sewing patterns recently, to organize them into my new Amy Butler tool caddy that my mom got for me at Marshall’s. I filtered through some patterns that I might not get to, including these 4 clothing sewing patterns by Cynthia Rowley.
If you participated in the Jamie Dress Sew Along, perhaps you have the confidence to make some more dresses! These patterns are all sizes 4 through 12/16.
I will draw one winner, who will receive all 4 brand new, uncut patterns. You have until Friday, April 29th 9pm CT to enter.
How you can enter:
1. Leave me a comment and tell me if you have ever sewn a dress before (if not, that’s okay!). If you have, what dress pattern out there would you most like to make; if you have made a dress before, what’s your favorite pattern?
2. “Follow” my blog (if you’re already a follower, super!). Then, just leave a second, SEPARATE comment saying that you follow me.
You can have up to 2 entries. I will randomly choose 1 winner, who will receive all 4 Cynthia Rowley patterns! The drawing will close on Friday, April 29th at 9pm CT.
The first dress that I ever sewed was for my Junior Winter formal in High school! It was a home ec project. I like patter 2587!

I did not participate in the Jamie Dress Sew-Along, unfortunately. I personally do not wear sleeveless clothing, so the pattern for the Lamie dress really wouldn’t have worked. What I love about the 4 patterns above, however, is every one has a sleeve option! I love the pattern on the bottom left especially – it has a nice sleeve cap but it’s open and kind of sexy.
Also – I follow your blog through Google Reader – does that count? Thanks!
Ahh! I haven’t sewn any dresses yet. 🙁 I haven’t had the sewing confidence yet. I LOVE the patterns you have! They’re totally my style!! Thanks so much for hosting!
And I’m already a follower 🙂 Happily of course!
I’m about to make the Jamie dress. It will be my first!
Love following your blog!
I have never sewn a dress before, but I’ve wanted to try. Almost joined the sewalong, but just had too many current obligations. If I made one of the four pictured, I’d choose the top left one.
And I follow your blog.
I’ve been looking for a dress pattern but I struggle picturing what it will actaully look like in a cute fabric!
I sewed my very first dress as part of the Jamie Dress Sew Along. It was great fun. I have recently had my eye on the Lisette traveler shirt dress pattern (Simplicity 2246).
I am also a follower of your blog.
I’m currently trying my first dress. The Anda pattern from the Burda Style website. Hopefully it works out well.
I have sewn dresses. All of them have been self drafted hence can’t take any pattern maker name! I do not have access to commercial patterns here in India, so learnt the art of pattern making and i self-draft patterns for my Darling Daughter, dear sister and self!
I would love to win this pattern though, there can always be a first time for everything right.

The only dress I’ve ever sewed was for your sew along and I loved the experience! Can’t wait to try making more.

So once I finish my Jamie dress, that will be my first dress ever sewn lol! I really would like to dive into some built by Wendy patterns once my skills get sharpened.
I also follow your lovely blog.
I am still working on my Jamie dress but I do LOVE the pattern! What number pattern is the one on the bottom left?? Even if I didn’t win I really like the dress the model is wearing and would love to try it!
I already follow your awesome blog!
Cute patterns! There are just too many things in life to sew…. Wish I had all day to do projects!
I’m a happy follower 🙂
I made my first dress when I was 11 – but I’m not saying how long ago that was!!!!

I’ve never sewn a dress but I’d like to try after I get a bit more practice with accurate seams.
I like the bottom right pattern very much – the long, sleeveless variation is something I’d love to have.
I haven’t sewn a dress. This summer I’m going to learn to take a few dresses in a few sizes. Should be a learning experience.

And I’m already a follower, too.
I have sewn many dresses, usually for other people though. 🙁 I am currently making a shirtdress for myself though. I do love the cut-out shoulders of the two patterns on the left. And 2305 looks like it would be great for work – classy, non-restrictive in movement, and easy to wear.
And, I also follow your blog. I love it. So inspiring. Keep it up!
oh man oh man oh man! I reeeeeally want these! I was going to go out and buy them anyways!! I’m hooked on sewing clothes for myself after recently sewing Kay Whitt’s dress from her Sew Serendipity book and completing the Jamie dress in your sew along. I really hope I win! fingers crossed. I’m a follower now! Pick meeeeeee! I really want these!!
I have never sewn a dress before, but would love to try one! I have mostly stuck to purses, makeup bags, etc.
And i’m also a follower!
I have never sewn a dress for myself, though I have made a few simple A-lines for my niece, I don’t recall the pattern # though.

The first dress i’ve ever sewn was in my 8th grade sewing class… of course i’ve improved since then 🙂

Those dresses look amazing! I was under the impression that all dress patterns are frumpy. I see now I was so wrong… I *think* the first dress I made was a recycled tank to dress for my daughter last year. BUT my mom and grandmother and I made my wedding dress. I only did the veil but still…
And thanks for two comments from Sew Sweetness on my Market love tote!
I am a follower! Love the pattern reviews!
I’ve never sewn a dress…and to be honest, the thought of doing so gives me a baby panic attack! But its on my ‘get your butt in gear and try more things!’ sewing list 🙂
aaaand I’m a follower 🙂
never sewn one before.

I tried to sew a dress for me once but it didn’t go well. I would love to give it another try and these patterns are gorgeous; thanks for the chance!

I am a mom of 3 so I usually find myself sewing for my kiddos. However, just recently I have made myself two dresses. They were Simplicity 2219 and Cynthia Rowley’s 2178. I had so much fun making them that when I saw this giveaway I nearly squealed.
