Giveaway Winner! Dress Progess!

The winners of the Betsy Ross sewing patterns are Becky for the bag pattern and BillieBee for the skirt, who commented that she wanted to make a skirt for her granddaughter!

And here’s my sneak peak of the Colette sewing pattern that I’m working on right now…this is going to be the strapless dress with the beautiful back tie. My grandmother helped me fit it the other day (because the smallest bust size on the pattern is much larger than my own bust size), which took quite some time because the bodice is 6 panels and they all had to be adjusted differently. I would probably have finished it by now, but my kids have been sick with colds and, in the evening when I usually sew, they’ve been getting up every hour or so coughing or being upset that they’re sick. 🙁 All I have left are to assemble the bodice lining (with boning), and then attach the bodice to the skirt (and this dress has inner pockets…how cool is that?!).

This is a wonderful pattern, and actually (besides altering it to fit me) it is the easiest dress pattern out of the few dresses that I’ve made. I have 2 more Colette sewing pattern, the Parfait and the Ceylon, and I think I’m going to start the Parfait really soon

  1. Thanks Sara. I’m happy to win the patterns. I was looking at the yellow Colette pattern and it reminded me of a dress my Aunt made me for a wedding when I was very young and about 150 lighter…..grin. Same yellow.

I hope the kids start feeling better soon!

I can’t wait to see your finished dressed. Inner pockets are awesome! That’s one of the things I really hate about dresses normally – I can’t stand not having pockets.

    Wohoo! thanks so much Sara!
Love that fabric you are using for the dress. That is so cool. And pretty cool that you have someone to help you alter stuff. I am clueless when it comes to that.
