Heather Ross Quilt Along Supply List/Schedule

I’m getting really excited for the upcoming Heather Ross Quilt Along in February! My fabrics are actually in the dryer right now (I know a lot of people don’t pre-wash, but I’m a newer quilter and so I’m already in the habit of pre-washing since I’ve seen a couple things I’ve made ruined due to shrinkage). 🙂

Based on some discussion on and off the Quilt Along Facebook Group, I think we’ve decided on some things, so I just wanted to get them all together for reference (although, feel free to suggest anything!).

There are two (similar) quilt pattern options for this quilt along:
#1: Ambrosia (symmetrical, square-within-a-square blocks); 43″ x 51″ finished size
#2: Boxed In (same idea but wonky); 50″ x 50″ finished size

Supply List

-1 Layer Cake or 10-Square (I believe most of us are using 5″ square cuts of Heather Ross prints in some way, combined with scraps or other combination of fabrics; your total yardage for the quilt front will be around 3 yards)
-rotary cutter
-cutting mat
-quilting ruler (I purchased a 5″x5″ Omnigrip for this project for the inner squares, and I’m going to use another ruler that I already had for cutting the strips)
-thread, pins, scissors

Schedule
Of course, you may work at your own pace (or join in at any time)! But here is a working schedule for the quilt top to keep us all on track. Each quilt pattern will be in rows of approximately 5 blocks, so 5 blocks per week (except if you have decided to make a smaller or larger quilt).

Week 1 (January 31) – Cutting
Week 2 (February 7) – Assembly Row 1
Week 3 (February 14) – Assembly Row 2
Week 4 (February 21) – Assembly Row 3
Week 5 (February 28) – Assembly Row 4
Week 6 (March 7) – Assembly Row 5

I can’t wait! Please feel free to join the Facebook Group so we can all help each other and post pictures of our progress!
