Colette Patterns

‘Eclair’ sewing pattern

I just wanted to share some Colette Sewing Patterns that I’m buying in a co-op that ends next week. I’ve had my eye on these patterns for quite some time, but at nearly $20, just never thought that I would get a chance to buy.

‘Parfait’ sewing pattern

I think they’re very vintage-looking and unique! I am anxious to see how they look with a printed fabric. I think the new Echino drapey fabrics would look great on one of these dresses.
‘Ceylon’ sewing pattern

Colette patterns has a gallery on their website of people who have made clothing with their patterns, and it’s great to see these dresses on other body types (and with other fabric combinations). I’m not sure which one I should make first! Which do you like the best??

#3 definitively stole my heart of shape alone, and since you’d inevitably do something fun with it I anticipate it the most… but #1 would be my least favorite (and honestly for no real reason beyond the fact that I think my mind tends to blot out such styles since I’m probably a good 50 lbs from them being being a flattering idea, and I already love enough things that aren’t good for me) but if I were to pick based on which one I think would make the best canvas for your eye/style, I think I see the most potential for crazy excitingness in #2 as it could easily turn out to be the most *you* dress…

so my picks would fall in reverse order–3, 2, 1–but if I was a betting woman I’d probably put money on 2 for the win once you’ve made them… (but hopefully someone more helpful will weigh in, lol)

#3 is very interesting… but it also looks like the hardest one! Good luck, I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I’ve been dying to try the parfait pattern so that would be my vote for #1. Is the co-op still open for new folks? I’d love to join in since I’ve had my eye on those patterns for some time but think the price tags are a little high.

  4. I love them! I enjoy your blog! Monday the 17th i will have a pattern giveaway up to $15 from ITHINKSEW.COM i thought you would be interested. I know you like to sew 🙂
